Samsung‘s June 2024 Android security patch has reached more Galaxy devices. The new security update is rolling out to the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy S23 FE in the US. The Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S23 series, which picked up the update earlier this week, are getting it widely across the nation.

Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy S23 FE get the June update in the US

The Galaxy Z Fold 4 is the first Samsung foldable to get the June SMR (Security Maintenance Release) in the US. The 2022 book-style foldable is getting the update with the firmware build number F936USQS5FXF1 for carrier-locked units. The Korean firm hasn’t released the new security patch for factory-unlocked variants. It may soon though. A global rollout should also be on the horizon.

It’s a similar story for the Galaxy S23 FE. The Fan Edition device is also initially picking up the June security update in the US, starting with carrier-locked units. The new build number for the phone is S711USQS4CXE3. We might sound repetitive, but Samsung shouldn’t take long to release this update for all eligible units stateside and abroad. The Korean firm has an excellent track record of timely security updates.

Unsurprisingly, these devices aren’t getting anything more than the latest security fixes. It hasn’t been long since Samsung updated them to One UI 6.1, bringing new AI features and more. The latest firmware release makes them more secure. This month’s security patch addresses 59 vulnerabilities, including a critical Galaxy flaw. Some of these vulnerabilities could pave the way for a devastating security attack.

Wider rollout for the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S23 series

The Galaxy 24 series was the first to get Samsung’s June security update. The Galaxy S23 series followed its successor. Both lineups picked up the new SMR in the US before expanding to other markets (the devices received a second May update in some regions). However, Samsung initially only updated the carrier-locked units stateside. Thankfully, users with unlocked units didn’t have to wait long.

The June SMR is now available for unlocked Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S23 phones across the nation. The updated build numbers for the devices are S92*U1UES2AXE4 and S91*U1UES3CXE3. These are the same builds as the carrier-locked units. Neither lineup is getting anything more than the 59 security fixes discussed above. You can check for updates from the Settings app. Always install security patches as soon as they are available.
