T-Mobile arbitrarily removing some older plans from its website has caused panic among subscribers. The company could be coaxing users to move on to costlier plans, some internet users have suggested.

T-Mobile removes old Magenta plans from its website

T-Mobile has been playing the pricing game for a few years now. The T-Mobile Magenta plans, for example, start at $90 per month for three lines. Needless to say, Magenta plans are far more affordable than the carrier’s other plans. Given the plan’s affordability and long-term reliability, several mobile users have remained loyal subscribers.

Back when T-Mobile was the fourth largest network in America, the then-CEO John Legere introduced aggressively priced plans. The telco hoped to attract customers using these subscriptions, which they did.

However, with growing customers, T-Mobile could try to gradually raise prices. But users often spot these changes quickly. Hence, the telco may be trying to cleverly remove older plans, thereby compelling subscribers to opt for pricier options.

How to keep using Magenta plans after T-Mobile retires them?

T-Mobile hasn’t scrubbed its website off all Magenta plans. The carrier has reportedly removed the option to sign up for Magenta plans.

Instead of an option to opt for the plans, T-Mobile has put up a note. T-Mobile is reportedly asking subscribers to call the T-Mobile customer care number to opt for them.

Some internet users have feared that this could be a trick to gradually and subtly retire the Magenta plans instead of outright removing them. First, the option to get them vanishes, and then the plans themselves disappear.

The option to opt for the T-Mobile Magenta plans is now missing from the carrier’s website. However, subscribers can try and stick to these plans. T-Mobile customers, who wish to continue using Magenta plans, would need to call the company and state their wishes clearly and persistently, some social media users have suggested.

T-Mobile could be using this method to get customers to call their customer care. The company would then try and upsell the modern, and pricier plans. Needless to say, this is one of the oldest tricks to get talking to customers and boost revenue.
