OnePlus has started rolling out a new update to the OnePlus 12R, and a Magic Eraser-like tool is included in it. This update is currently rolling out to Indian users only, but it will soon spread to other markets.

Do note that the update includes a new security patch too, for April 2024. The version that is rolling out is OxygenOS 14.0.0.505. That build number will be a bit different in other markets, but the update will likely be (almost) the same.

Now, the Magic Eraser-like feature we’ve mentioned is called ‘AIGC Remover’. That tool is already available to both OnePlus 12 and OnePlus 11 users. It allows you to “remove unwanted objects or people and make your photos look cleaner”.

Do note that this is not the same as AI Eraser, also a new tool that OnePlus announced. AI Eraser is already available on the OnePlus 12R and a number of other OnePlus smartphones.

In addition to this, OnePlus is also adding the ability to create photo collages here. That is a feature that rolled out to some other phones from the company recently. It’s still bare bones, but it could prove to be useful.

A new way to power up the flashlight has been added as well

You can also go to settings how and set your flashlight to power on and off when you press and hold the volume down button. This update also allows you to set app-specific volume levels.

On top of these new features, OnePlus is also rolling out some improvements here. The volume bar is getting improved, as its design is being changed. OnePlus is doing that for “visual consistency” and ease of use.

The touch control experience has been improved in certain scenarios too. The same goes for the compatibility of USB connections between phones and cars, and phones and PCs. OnePlus also said that the system stability in general has been improved.
