In the world of gaming controllers, there are so many options it can make your head spin, and Victrix is here to add one more to the plate with the Xbox version of its Pro BFG controller. This controller initially came out over a year ago. But at the time it was only compatible with PC and PS5. This was essentially another third-party Pro DualSense controller.

Victrix says that it was highly requested on Xbox and so it didn’t want to let its fans and consumers down. To that end, it’s launching the Xbox Pro BFG Wireless Controller. I tested one of these for PS5 and quite liked it. Victrix is bringing over all of that controller’s best features. So, really this is the same controller but for Xbox as this one is officially licensed. This means you’ll be able to use it now that Microsoft has disabled unauthorized accessories from working on Xbox consoles.

Like its PS5/PC counterpart, the Xbox version will have trigger locks to allow for faster trigger pulls. Which you’ll want to use in first-person shooter games and other titles where fast reactions are a must. It also features Hall Effect joysticks for preventing stick drift, rubberized hand grips, and back buttons that you can remap.

Its real claim to fame though, is the modular components. You can swap out and re-order the face modules with the joysticks, d-pad, and action buttons. And there’s even a module for fighting games.

You can’t buy this controller just yet and unfortunately, it won’t be ready in time for the holidays. However, it will be up for pre-order in January Victrix says. The controller will retail for $179.99 so it’s right on par with the cost of Microsoft’s Elite Series 2. And it offers many of the same features if not most or all of them. It offers some stuff that Microsoft’s controller doesn’t though. For instance, it has full support for Dolby Atmos for headphones. And it comes with a lifetime subscription to it.

So if you plug a pair of headphones into the controller during use, you’ll get that better sound experience when playing on the Xbox. And of course, there’s the modularity mentioned earlier. You can grab this controller in black and white colors when it launches.
