Samsung is expanding its One UI 6.0 beta program to more foldable devices. A few days after opening up the program for the Galaxy Z Fold 5, it’s now enrolling beta testers for the Galaxy Z Flip 5 as well. The company previously released One UI 6.0 beta updates for the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S22, Galaxy S21, Galaxy A54, and Galaxy A34.

Galaxy Z Flip 5 users can now test Samsung’s One UI 6.0

As of this writing, we have confirmation about the availability of One UI 6.0 beta for the Galaxy Z Flip 5 in the US. Samsung may expand it to more markets in the coming days, or it may have already begun the expansion. The company’s beta program for the Galaxy S23 is also available in China, Germany, India, Poland, South Korea, and the UK.

As usual, if you’re interested in trying the big One UI update, which brings Android 14, on your Galaxy Z Flip 5 early, you can register via the Samsung Members app. Locate a banner about One UI 6.0 on the app’s home page and tap on it to proceed. You may have to log in with a Samsung account if you haven’t already. Note that some users in the US didn’t see the banner initially but clearing the app’s cache or reinstalling it helped.

Once you have completed the registration, the beta update will roll out to you like a regular OTA (over-the-air) update. You can manually check for it by navigating to Settings > Software update > Download and install. You may have to wait a while, tough. The firmware build number for the first One UI 6.0 beta update for the Galaxy Z Flip 5 ends with ZWJ2, the same as the Galaxy Z Fold 5.

Since it’s a major platform update, the OTA download size weighs about 2.7GB. So you might want to download it over a Wi-Fi connection. After you install One UI 6.0, Samsung may ask you to update some apps to ensure compatibility with the new version. This update will also change the look and feel of various system UI elements, including the notification panel, settings, widgets, app icons, and more.

Stable update should arrive later this month

Samsung hasn’t revealed its Android 14-based One UI 6.0 update roadmap yet. However, all signs point towards a first stable release in October. The Galaxy S23 series will lead this line, followed by other flagship models. The company is expected to push One UI 6.0 to all eligible flagship models before the end of 2022. We will let you know when we have an official confirmation from Samsung.
