The new Google Photos Memories feed is now getting to more users in the US. This new feeds feature is all thanks to the app redesign that Google put out last month. Most users will need to understand the new layout and positioning of certain buttons once the redesign rolls out to them via an update.

With the redesign, Memories is now getting a button of its own on the bottom navigation bar. But you might be wondering how this is possible since there are already four buttons on the bottom navigation bar. Well, not only did this redesign displace one button currently on the bottom navigation bar, it also reshuffles the position of all four buttons.

The top part of the Google Photos app interface also gets a redesign, shifting the app watermark to the left-hand side. As for the accounts icon, it stays in its place but now has two new neighbors, Print Store and Sharing. Yes, with the redesign, the Sharing button moves to the top right-hand side of the interface, leaving space for the Memories button.

What to expect from the new Google Photos Memories feed that is currently rolling out to users

The changes to the bottom navigation bar coming with the redesign introduced the Memories button. It also reshuffles the arrangement of all four buttons on the bottom navigation tab. Previously the arrangement was Photos, Search, Sharing, and Library, but with the redesign, it is now Photos, Memories, Library, and Search.

All the other three buttons maintain their functions that users are already familiar with. But the new Memories button comes with new functions that users will find very entertaining. Just like the name says, this new button takes users back to memory lane in a very stylish manner.

The design of the Memory interface is very ‘Material You-ish’ and it brings together user pictures from various timelines. For its organization of pictures to create memories, the feature relies on AI technology. Users can also create their memories in addition to the curated entries and share them with friends and family.

This new feature also lets users add titles to their memories or let AI curate a title for them. The organization of the photos in this memory takes a different pattern from the regular app layout. Users will love to have this feature on their Photos app, as it’ll help them create fond memories of themselves.

Google says that this feature is going to roll out in the coming months. Already some users have this feature on their Google Photos app while others have yet to get it. If you are yet to get this feature, you can watch out for coming updates via the Google Play Store or the App Store.
