Music streaming services are big on trying to give you algorithmically selected music so that you can discover your next favorite act. YouTube Music quietly rolled out a new feature that will show you recommended albums, according to Android Police. These are albums that the platform thinks that you should listen to.

YouTube Music is one of the platforms that’s always making changes to the UI. Just recently, the app removed the skip button from its mini-player. Now, you simply have to swipe to navigate between tracks.

YouTube music brings recommended albums

It’s important that streaming services find music that will keep you on the platform longer. You’re more likely to stay on the platform if you find new and exciting music to obsess over. This is where the new recommended albums come in.

When you open up the app, you will see a new horizontally scrolling carousel full of albums that YouTube Music thinks that you should listen to. As you can imagine, the selection of albums is based on your musical preference and listening history. So, if you are a person who’s really into jazz, you shouldn’t expect albums from country singers.

This was a silent rollout, so you should probably check your app to see if you have it. If you don’t see it, then make sure that your app is fully updated. You’ll also be able to see this if you use the desktop version of YouTube Music.

In other YouTube news: YouTube is bringing the community tab to more users

One of the more interesting features added to YouTube is the community tab. This is a hub for users to communicate with their fan base. It’s also a place where the fan base can talk amongst themselves.

The creator can post text-based updates, pictures, poles, and quizzes. The fan base can interact with those posts. This is a great way for creators to engage with their audiences.

Previously, creators needed to have at least 500 subscribers to get the community tab. That’s not the highest bar to leap, but it was still annoying. However, you can have access to the community tab no matter how many subscribers you have.
