Samsung has released the May 2023 Android security patch for a bunch of Galaxy smartphones. The Galaxy S20 series, Galaxy Note 10 series, Galaxy A52, and Galaxy A23 5G are the latest devices to receive this month’s security update. The Korean firm has already updated dozens of other Galaxy smartphones and tablets to the May SMR (Security Maintenance Release). It patches more than 70 vulnerabilities.

The May update for the Galaxy S20 series is currently available in a few countries in Latin America, SamMobile reports. The publication confirms the rollout in Argentina, Bolivia, Paraguay, and Uruguay. A wider release should follow in the coming days. Along with expanding the availability in more Latin American countries, Samsung will also push the update in other regions, including the US.

The new SMR for the Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, and Galaxy S20 Ultra comes with the firmware build number G98*FXXSGHWD4 for the 4G versions of the devices. Their 5G counterparts are picking up the same update with the build number G98*BXXSGHWD4. None of these devices are receiving any new features or improvements here. The update is all about this month’s security fixes.

These security fixes are also rolling out to the Galaxy Note 10 and Galaxy Note 10+. Samsung has released the update for the 2019 Note phones in its homeland South Korea. The new firmware version for the duo in the country is N97*NKSU2HWD2 (via). The official changelog doesn’t mention any other goodies apart from the latest SMR. The update should reach more markets over the next few days.

Samsung is also pushing the May update to some mid-range Galaxy devices

The Galaxy A52 is also picking up the May SMR in some markets today. The update for the former is widely available in Latin America and a few countries in Europe. The new firmware versions for the phone in the two markets are A525MUBS5DWE1 and A525FXXS5DWD2, respectively. Note that Samsung has already released the May update for the Galaxy A52 5G. The rollout for both versions should go global soon.

The Galaxy A23 5G is another Samsung device that recently started receiving the May SMR. The Korean firm has released the latest security update for the mid-range device in Europe. The updated firmware build number for the phone is A236BXXS3CWD4. A wider release should be just around the corner. The 4G version of this device picked up the latest security update last week. Neither model is getting anything apart from this month’s security fixes.
