Samsung is rapidly getting done with its April security update rollout. It is pushing the latest security patch to new Galaxy devices almost every day. Also, the company’s expanding the availability of the update to more regions. The Galaxy Z Fold 4, Galaxy Z Flip 4, Galaxy S21 series, and the Galaxy A14 5G are widely receiving the April SMR (Security Maintenance Release).

The 2022 Samsung foldables were second only to the Galaxy S23 series in this month’s security update. But, the initial rollout last week was limited to the US. Today, the company has released the new SMR for the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 in Europe, Latin America, and its homeland South Korea. The update comes with the firmware build number F936BXXU2CWCC in the former two regions, while that for the latter is F936NKSU2CWCC.

Eagle-eyed readers may have noticed that this update isn’t just about the latest security patch. The “U” in the firmware version (sixth letter from the end) suggests it contains more. And it does. Samsung is pushing camera and gallery improvements to the two foldables. The company is bringing new features that it debuted with the Galaxy S23 series to eligible older models. The US versions of the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 may get those goodies with the next update.

The story for the Galaxy S21 series also follows a similar path. Samsung first released the April SMR for its 2021 flagships in the US. It has now expanded the rollout to Europe as well. The new firmware version for the Galaxy S21 trio is G99*BXXU7EWCH.

According to Samsung’s changelog, users in Romania are getting NSA (non-standalone) 5G network support on T-Mobile Romania with this update. The April update may not bring any major goodies to the phones in other parts of the world, though.

Galaxy A14 5G is getting One UI Core 5.1 with the April update

The Galaxy A14 5G is another Samsung device that recently started receiving the April security update. And, it’s a big one for the new budget 5G smartphone. The device is getting One UI Core 5.1 with this release. The new One UI version was first released for this phone last month.

The update has now expanded to more markets and comes bundled with the latest security patch as well. The new firmware version is A146PXXU2BWD1, though it may vary depending on your region. You can see the official changelog here for content details.
