Android 13 finally makes it to the LG V60

Korean tech giant LG hasn’t been a phone maker in almost two years. However, that doesn’t mean that it’s abandoned its latest devices like the LG Wing, LG Velvet, and LG V60. The former two have gotten Android 13 and the LG V60 is finally joining the pack.

In case you don’t know, LG made the decision to exit the smartphone market around this time in 2021, and it’s been supporting its newest phones with the latest versions of Android. Since then, the three aforementioned phones were updated to Android 12 with two of them getting Android 13.

Now, the LG V60 is hopping onto Android 13

The LG V60 was one of LG’s most powerful phones. It was from its content creator-focused V line of phones that brought several advantages over the G series of phones. While the design wasn’t the most exciting, there was a lot of power under the hood.

It had a large 6.8-inch 1080P+ HDR10+ POLED display. Powering it was the flagship-grade Snapdragon 865 5G SoC. That was backed up by 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of onboard storage. It had a headphone jack, a 5000mAh battery, IP68 water and dust resistance, and other nice specs.

It was a well-received phone that had an interesting accessory. This was one of LG’s dual-screen cases that would basically turn the phone into a “faux-foldable.” That was one of the things that set LG apart from the rest of the competition.

According to Android Authority (via Android Central), Android 13 is coming to the LG V60 in the US market. For the time being, it’s only making its way to models running on the T-Mobile network. If you’re on other carriers, then you’ll need to wait a little longer.

The update weighs in at about 1.8GB, so you’ll want to make sure your phone has that much storage. Also, don’t expect any major feature changes or new aesthetics. Since the company is no longer making phones, it’s only providing the basics. This means bug fixes and the latest security patch.
