At the end of 2022, fuboTV subscribers got some great news. That Bally Sports RSNs would be coming to the service. Making it only the second streaming TV service that Bally Sports (behind DIRECTV Stream). But it looks like there’s a caveat.

On February 6, fuboTV users got access to Bally Sports finally, after waiting nearly two months. But, not everyone got Bally Sports. Apparently, two of the RSNs won’t be launching until Baseball season in April. That includes Bally Sports Great Lakes and Bally Sports San Diego. They are set to launch just before MLB starts, so likely closer to mid-March.

fuboTV explained on its website, “Please note that Bally Sports San Diego and Bally Sports Great Lakes will launch at a later date ahead of the Major League Baseball season.”

This is a pretty weird delay

In the grand scheme of things, delaying the launch of two RSNs is pretty odd. But when you look deeper, neither of these networks has basketball or hockey teams that it shows. Bally Sports San Diego only shows the Padres (MLB) and Bally Sports Great Lakes is the home to the Cleveland Guardians (MLB) and does show some Cleveland Browns (NFL) content, though majority of the Browns games will be on CBS, FOX, NBC or ESPN.

So customers in those regions aren’t really missing anything right now. But it’s still odd to see them not available with the rest of the Bally Sports RSNs. It could be that fuboTV is holding off on these until Baseball season since that’s really all these networks show. That way they can save some cash and not raise prices. But this could also be Bally Sports’ parent-company, continuing to run things poorly.

Bally Sports’ parent-company, Diamond Sports Group is said to be entering bankruptcy soon. So it was not a surprise to see Bally Sports coming to fuboTV. We’re hoping it comes back to YouTube TV and Hulu in the future as well. But the whole company is being run pretty poorly.
