OPPO announced its new foldable smartphones earlier today, the Find N2 and Find N2 Flip. The former is the Galaxy Z Fold 4 alternative, while the latter is a clamshell foldable, an alternative to the Galaxy Z Flip 4. Well, some of you will be glad to know that the OPPO Find N2 Flip will launch globally to rival Samsung’s handset.

The OPPO Find N2 Flip will launch globally in Q1 2023

OPPO confirmed as much, as the device is expected to arrive to global markets in Q1 next year. What about the Find N2, though? Well, we’re still not sure about that one, as OPPO still has no plans for it. The Find N2 launch is not excluded, though.

Why did OPPO take this approach? Well, it’s probably due to app compatibility. There are not many apps that can take advantage of the phone’s main display. Even though Google did adapt some of its apps, and other developers followed, many major apps are still not adapted to such displays.

That makes applications look kind of funny on large displays. If we had to guess, we’d say that’s the main reason. Opening up Twitter, for example, is not a great experience, the same goes for Facebook, for example.

The Find N2 Flip pricing starts at CNY5,999 ($860) in China

Luckily, the Find N2 Flip will be making its way to markets outside of China. The phone’s pricing starts at CNY5,999 ($860) in China, and we do expect it to be a bit more expensive in other markets.

It will be coming to Europe for sure, while OPPO will announce further details early next year. The Find N2 Flip has a rather spacious cover display, flat-ish sides, and it overall looks very compelling.

The phone is fueled by the MediaTek Dimensity 9000+ SoC, it has a 6.8-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Its cover display measures 3.2 inches, and it’s also an OLED panel, but a 60Hz one.

The device has three cameras overall

50 and 8-megapixel cameras sit on the back of the phone, while a 32-megapixel one is included on the phone’s main display. OPPO’s MariSilicon X chip is included for image processing.

A 4,400mAh battery sits inside of this phone, and the device supports 44W charging. It does not offer wireless charging, though.
