You will soon pay more for Hulu + Live TV

It seems everything is raising prices this time of the year. We’ve heard about Sling TV and Paramount+, and now Hulu + Live TV. Though this price increase is not something that’s new. It was announced a few months ago, and coincides with the launch of the Disney+ ad-supported tier.

Hulu started notifying customers on Thursday that prices were going up, even though Disney announced this back in August. Basically, the price of the bundle is going up. However, you can avoid the price increase.

Starting on December 8, you’ll see your monthly price for the Hulu + Live TV bundle going up to $74.99 for Hulu, ESPN+ and Disney+ with no Ads. Or from $74.99 to $82.99 if you have the bundle that includes ad-free Hulu.

How to avoid this price hike

Most people aren’t going to like it, but there is a way to avoid this price hike. You can switch your Disney+ bundle over to the new Disney+ tier with ads, and keep paying the same $69.99 per month. It is a downgrade, but if you really don’t want to pay another $5 per month (that’s $60 per year!), then this is the way to do it.

With the launch of the new Disney+ ad-tier, we’re getting a lot of new Disney+ bundles that you can choose from. With and without ads for Disney+ and Hulu, and of course, ESPN+ is still included. However, you can’t get ESPN+ without ads. That is mostly because ESPN+ has a lot of live content, which has ads naturally. Similarly to Hulu + Live TV.

It’s not a surprise to see prices going up. But to help soften the blow, Hulu has added the Weather Channel and a few other Allen News channels this week. So at least you are getting more channels that you can watch. Even though the price increase is from Disney+ and not Hulu itself.
