Samsung has officially launched the Galaxy Z Flip 4 Maison Margiela Edition. The company has been teasing this limited edition clamshell foldable for the past couple of weeks. It’s the same device launched in August bar for customized exteriors and accessories with the French luxury fashion brand’s design philosophy. The device also gets some exclusive wallpaper artwork and icons.
The Galaxy Z Flip 4 Maison Margiela Edition brings unique exteriors and accessories
The Galaxy Z Flip 4 Maison Margiela Edition features a matte white rear panel with a “drop of grey”. The metal frame gets a silver hue while the Samsung and Maison Margiela added fine, translucent lines on the back of the phone to signify the internal circuits. We also have the French brand’s emblematic numeric coding ring on the back. The companies made a see-through wallpaper as well. It is kind of an x-ray image of the phone, letting you see its internal components on the screen. The Korean firm also promises a completely new UX design with tailor-made app icons and wallpapers.
As for accessories, this limited edition Galaxy Z Flip 4 comes with two customized protective cases. Both of them feature the French brand’s “four stitches” emblem on a white surface. Additionally, Samsung has painted one leather cover with a unique texture that could change over time. The other, meanwhile, features a ring holder with Maison Margiela’s emblematic numeric coding ring. The Korean firm says the packaging box for the phone is a work of art in itself. It reflects the design philosophy of the two companies.
“Samsung and Maison Margiela have staged a meeting of minds to showcase a Galaxy Z Flip 4 unlike any other. Every element of this special edition focuses on Margiela’s originality and values — inside and out — highlighting the authentic core and substance of the brand,” Samsung said in a press release. “With this collaboration, which combines groundbreaking technology and a unique design, we want you to be able to express your true authentic selves and celebrate what makes you unique,” added the company’s CMO of the mobile business, Stephanie Choi.
Price and availability
The Galaxy Z Flip 4 Maison Margiela Edition will be available in China, France, and South Korea starting from December 1, 2022. You will be able to purchase it from the company’s official website for these markets. But Samsung hasn’t revealed the pricing yet. It will likely share the pricing information close to the phone’s release. It’s also unclear if the company plans to release this limited edition Galaxy Z Flip 4 in other markets, such as the US.
