Samsung is rolling out the One UI 4.1.1 update to more Galaxy smartphones and tablets. Debuted on the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 last month, the new One UI version made it into the Galaxy Tab S8 and Galaxy S22 series devices last week. The company today announced the update for the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3. The Korean firm added that One UI 4.1.1 will also roll out to the Galaxy Z Fold2, Galaxy Z Flip, and the original Galaxy Fold.

One UI 4.1.1 is the latest iteration of Samsung’s custom Android software. For big-screen devices such as tablets and Fold series foldables, the Korean firm is implementing Android 12L. The latter is a special Android version optimized for these kinds of devices. It makes better use of the large screens by adding features such as an easier split screen, persistent taskbar, and more. You can quickly open apps in split-screen mode or make app pairs to always open in split screen. The taskbar, meanwhile, lets you pin your most used apps to the bottom of the screen for easier and quicker access.

The Galaxy Z Fold 4 was the first Samsung device to ship with Android 12L out of the box. The Galaxy Tab S8, Tab S8+, and Tab S8 Ultra also picked up this branch of Android with the One UI 4.1.1 update last week, complete with the taskbar and all. One UI 4.1.1 for the Galaxy S22 series, understandably, didn’t bring Android 12L. But it should be making its way into the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and all other Fold models. Like the Galaxy S22, all Flip series foldables will get One UI 4.1.1 sans Android 12L.

Apart from some features specific to the big-screen devices, One UI 4.1.1 also brings improvements to Private Share and Smart View. You can now rename files sent or received through Private Share. Multi View controls under Smart View, meanwhile, are getting new options. Samsung’s PENUP app is also getting some new features on supported devices.

According to a Samsung Newsroom post, the One UI 4.1.1 update is rolling out to the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 starting today. It should be available globally over the next few days. The update should also soon reach the remaining Fold and Flip series models. It remains to be seen if Android 12L or One UI 4.1.1 makes it into any other Galaxy device. We will keep you posted.
