Samsung has begun rolling out the stable One UI Watch 4.5 update to the Galaxy Watch 4 series. Based on Wear OS 3.5, the company has been beta testing the new software package for its 2021 smartwatches since early June. Over the past three months, it released as many as five beta updates. The stable version is now hitting users globally.

The big software update for the Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 4 Classic comes with firmware version R870XXU1GVH2. For beta users, the OTA (over the air) package weighs about 95MB. But if you’re directly receiving the stable version, the update is over 900MB in size. This OTA download size may vary according to the model, though not by much.

There’s plenty to talk about in this update. It brings all the compatible new features that Samsung debuted on the Galaxy Watch 5 series last month. You have new and improved watch faces that offer greater style and customizations. You can add watch faces as favorites for quickly finding them later. There are also new watch face complications.

If you have your watch connected to a dual SIM phone, your Galaxy Watch 4 will let you select a SIM for making calls. You can have it follow the preferred SIM settings on the phone or manually select the other SIM. The watch will display which SIM you’re using for a particular call. This update also brings improvements to Messages, Settings, Bixby, Keyboard, and notifications. Moreover, if you’re using a Samsung flagship running One UI 4.1.1, the camera controller now lets you switch between photos and videos when capturing. You can check out the full changelog below.

The stable One UI Watch 4.5 update for the Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 4 Classic is now rolling out to users globally. You can also manually check for updates from the Galaxy Wearable app. Simply navigate to the Watch settings menu and tap the Watch software update option.

Samsung smartwatches also let you initiate a software update from the watch itself. Just go to the Software update section in the Settings app. Note that it may take a few days for all eligible users to receive this update. So wait some time if you don’t see any updates yet. You will receive it soon.
