Google Meet Will Save Transcripts To Google Docs

At this point, it’s hard to imagine that people are still able to add more features to video chat services, but companies like Google continue to. The company’s been adding more features to Google Meet, especially over the past two years. Now, according to Android Police, you can save a live transcript of a Google Meet meeting and save it as a Google Doc.

It can be tough to keep up with a live conversation if there are distractions or interruptions during the stream. This goes double when we’re talking about kids. Teachers who use Google Meet to teach children need a way for them to refer back to what’s been taught after the lesson is over.

So, Google will save Google Meet transcripts as a Doc

Google has a Workspace plan that’s for educators. It provides them with tools that help them teach their classes. Google announced a new feature that will help students refer back to the lesson after it’s finished. A lot of classes happen over Google Meet, the company’s video chat platform.

While the stream is going, the platform will develop a live transcript so that people will be able to see what’s being said. However, what if you want to be able to refer to the transcript after the stream is over? This is where this new feature comes in.

Google will save that Meet transcript to a Google Doc. This means that the kids will be able to load up the document and see what was spoken at a later date. What’s good is that when the transcript is saved, the teacher will be able to edit it and make sure that everything was accurately recorded.

Not everyone will be able to use this feature

Right now, this feature is only available for two plans, and they’re geared toward education. People who are on the Workspace For Education Plus and the Teach And Learning plans will be able to use this feature. While it’s not available for other plans at the moment, it should, hopefully, come to more down the line.
