You’ll find that most of Google’s apps have been given the Material You makeover, but there’s still a ways to go. According to 9To5Google, Google Translate is finally getting the makeover for older Pixel 6 devices. This is great because Translate hasn’t really been updated in a while.

Google Translate now has Material You on older Pixels.

Google’s design aesthetic has seen some upgrades since the Google Translate app was introduced. However, Google Translate’s design pretty much stayed the same over the past couple of years. It still kept the blue and white theme while other apps saw updates.

Now, with Android 12 and Material You, Google Translate finally made the jump to a new design. People using Pixel 6 phones have enjoyed this design for a bit, but those on older Pixel phones have been left in the dust.

This changes now, as the update finally made it to older devices. Devices as old as the Pixel 3 can get Android 12, so this change will trickle down to that phone.

It depends on the version you have.

As with all Material You upgrades, it depends on which version of the app you have. According to the source, this update was found on Google Translate version 6.26 on the Pixel 4 XL and version 6.27 on the Pixel 5.

This means you’ll need to be sure that your app is updated to the latest version. Also, at the moment, we don’t know which version you’ll need for the Pixel 3 phones. If you don’t see the update, you’ll need to check which version you have.

To do so, you can either search Google Translate in the Google Play Store store or simply tap and hold on to the Google Translate app and tap the app info button. Scroll down to the bottom of that screen, and you should see which version you’re running. Tapping on app details will bring you straight to the app on the Google Play store.

Update the app if you have the option. If you don’t have the option to update, then you’ll just have to wait. The update is probably still rolling out to your device.

In Other Google News: Google got rid of the Google Toolbar for Internet Explorer

Google just put one of its oldest products to rest recently. The Google Toolbar turned 21 years old on December 11th this year, and soon after that, Google put it to bed. Bed.

Those of you who were around back in the early 2000s and used Internet Explorer should know about this toolbar. This was an all-in-one toolbar that had a bunch of Google services ready for quick access.
