A seemingly complete OnePlus 8T specs sheet just found its way online, detailing the upcoming flagship in full. A new version of Warp Charge takes center stage, more than doubling the manufacturer’s 30W charging tech to 65W. The actual battery capacity will reportedly be in the ballpark of 4,500mAh. Another highlight is a flat, 6.55-inch FHD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate.
The opposite of a highlight would be the inclusion of the Snadpragon 865 today’s leak alleges. As that would mean the OnePlus 8T will miss out on the very latest chipset from Qualcomm – the Snapdragon 865+. Doing so would be uncharacteristic for OnePlus; its T-branded devices have been using the Qualcomm’s “Plus” chips for as long as both existed. In terms of storage options, the spec sheet mentions 8GB/128GB and 12GB/256GB memory configurations. Which isn’t to say more aren’t on the way, but it does make it less likely.
Meanwhile, the newly emerged renders show an L-shaped quad-camera setup. The redesign gives the back of the OnePlus 8T a somewhat unique look – just don’t hold all four of its cameras to the same standard. Because the main 48-megapixel module and the 16-megapixel wide-angle cameras are by far the most promising of the four. The rest of the setup includes a 5-megapixel macro camera, and a 2-megapixel portrait sensor sitting behind a general-purpose lens.
Regarding the veracity of these claims, the spec sheet and the imagery featured herein come from known industry insider OnLeaks. And given its proximity to the official launch of the OnePlus 8T, this leak is likely to be pretty accurate.
OnePlus 8T specs sheet leaves little to be desired
Not that long ago, OnePlus was among the top smartphone brands in terms of supported fast charging speeds. So much that the manner in which it fell to the wayside was pretty surprising to witness. However, one key advantage it maintained over its rivals was charging heat management. More specifically, its smartphones didn’t get nearly as hot as one would assume given the speeds invovled. Instead, the chargers were absorbing most of the unwanted heat this process generated.
Assuming that still holds true for the OnePlus 8T, the company will be back among the top charging options on the market. It’s possible OnePlus took its time with moving beyond 30W precisely because it was still solving that heat management challenge. Either way, we’ll know what the case is soon enough. Because the OnePlus 8T is launching as soon as this month and no later than the first week of October.
