A new smartphone has surfaced on DOOGEE’s official website, the DOOGEE Y8 Plus. This is the company’s new budget smartphone, and it comes with a waterdrop display notch which seems to be quite popular in the last couple of months.

The DOOGEE Y8 Plus is a part of the company’s Y series of smartphones, and it actually comes in three color variants, Midnight Blue, Midnight Black, and Phantom purple. The last color variant is gradient, as you can see in the gallery down below, and it combines black and purple colors.

The DOOGEE Y8 Plus’ bezels are quite thin, even though it does come with a rather noticeable “chin” below the display, on which you’ll notice DOOGEE’s branding. The phone’s display features rounded corners, while its earpiece sits right above the selfie camera, which is located in the aforementioned notch.

Two vertically-aligned cameras are included on the back of the DOOGEE Y8 Plus, while an LED flash sits in-between them. Those two cameras protrude a bit, while a fingerprint scanner sits on the back of the device as well. DOOGEE’s branding is present on the back of the device as well, while all of the phone’s physical keys are included on the right, its volume up, volume down, and power / lock buttons.

The DOOGEE Y8 Plus features a 6.21-inch display, though its resolution has not been revealed just yet. The phone is fueled by the MediaTek Helio A22 64-bit quad-core processor clocked at 2.0GHz, which is one of MediaTek’s budget options, but also one of the company’s better quad-core models.

The phone includes 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage, while a 4,000mAh battery is also included in this package, and it is not removable. That battery can last about 280 hours on standby, and provide you with around 22 hours of all time. In addition to unlocking via its fingerprint scanner, you also have an option to utilize facial scanning on this phone.

On the back of the DOOGEE Y8 Plus, you’ll find 13-megapixel (Sony’s IMX135 sensor, f/2.0 aperture, 90-degree wide-angle lens, PDAF) and 8-megapixel cameras, while a single 8-megapixel (f/2.2 aperture, 80-degree wide-angle lens) camera sits on the phone’s front side.

Android 9 Pie comes pre-installed on the DOOGEE Y8 Plus, along with all the features you’d expect out of this operating system. Adaptive Battery and Adaptive Brightness features are included, the same goes for App Actions, and all the other features that you’d expect.

An NFC chip is included inside of this smartphone as well, while the device is expected to go on sale soon. DOOGEE did not say when the phone will become available, nor did the company say how much the device will cost, but you can expect it to go on sale in the coming weeks, and it will probably be extremely affordable.
