BLUBOO has announced that the Android 8.1 Oreo update for the BLUBOO S3 is on the way, and that it has been delayed due to a strict certification process of GMS. BLUBOO had released a new update for the BLUBOO S3 last week, and even though that update brought some new functions on the table, it did not bring Android Oreo. BLUBOO promises that Android 8.1 Oreo is passing through the final steps of GMS certification, and that it will be available in the near future.

Having said that, while we wait for this update to become available, BLUBOO has released a new promo video on its YouTube channel in which the company shows off Android 8.1 Oreo beta running on the BLUBOO S3. This video will give you a good idea as to what to expect once Android 8.1 Oreo arrives for the BLUBOO S3, as it will look basically identical to this, this is a late beta build. In this video you’ll see a comparison between Android Nougat and Android Oreo, both are running on the BLUBOO S3 in the provided video, by the way. BLUBOO likes to keep things pretty stock and not add bloatware on top of stock Android builds, which is why Android Oreo on the BLUBOO S3 will seem quite familiar to many of you.

In the provided video, BLUBOO announces some new features that will be made available in Android 8.1 Oreo, aside from regular stock ones, and the first feature that the company mentions is the ability to use the Internet without a SIM card or WiFi connection. The company calls this technology ‘Virtual SIM’, and the company says that this function will be available on a global scale. You will need to book a network plan on a pre-installed app, though, and turn on the virtual SIM before you start using this service. Face Unlock is also coming to the phone with Android 8.1 Oreo update, and those are the only two non-stock features that BLUBOO mentioned, though chances are we’ll see more additions.
