The Meizu M6S is the company’s upcoming smartphone which will launch on January 17, as per the company’s confirmation, and that phone has just surfaced on Geekbench. If you take a look at the Geekbench listing, which has been included down below, you will be able to see some of the phone’s specs, along with its single-core and multi-core benchmarks. This listing confirms that the Meizu M6S will ship with Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box, while Meizu’s Flyme skin will ship on top of it.
This listing also confirmed that the device will pack in 3GB of RAM, and that it will be fueled by a hexa-core processor clocked at 1.6GHz. Based on the previously leaked info, the SoC that we’re looking at here is the Exynos 7872 64-bit hexa-core processor from Samsung. The Meizu M6S managed to score 1,312 points in the single-core benchmark on Geekbench, while it reached 3,134 points in the multi-core test. The Meizu M6S definitely won’t be a high-end smartphone, or anything of the sort, but it will be a solid mid-range option based on the leaked info. That being said, the device will not sport a physical home key below its display like its predecessors, the company has decided to trim down bezels a bit, and the device will utilize on-screen button(s) instead, and when it comes to its design, it resembles the Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus from the front. A fingerprint scanner may be included on the side of the device, but we’re still not sure, and the phone will be made out of metal. There’s a good chance this phone will carry Meizu’s ‘mBlu’ branding, which means that it may not be released as the Meizu M6S, but those are only rumors, it remains to be seen what will happen.
This smartphone is also rumored to become the company’s first smartphone to ship with an 18:9 display, and if it ends up sporting a side-facing fingerprint scanner, it will be the first Meizu-branded phone to sport that as well. The device got certified by TENAA (China’s equivalent to the FCC) recently, and that is more or less it. It is also worth noting that the company’s Meizu 15 Plus flagship will launch in Sprint of 2018, but before that happens, we’ll see what the Meizu M6S has to offer.
