The Samsung Galaxy S3 is a top selling device, even a year later. And the Galaxy S3 is heading to more and more carriers everyday. So we thought we’d take the time to put together a guide as to how to root your GT-I9300 Galaxy S3. This is the international version. So if you’re in the US, this won’t work for your device.

Before We Begin

Instructions

  1. Extract the contents of the CF-Auto-Root file you download above, so you get a file named “CF-Auto-Root-m0-m0xx-gti9300.tar.md5” without the quotes of course
  2. Extract Odin3 v3.07
  3. Power off your Galaxy S3
  4. Boot into download Mode (pressing the Power, Home and Volume Down buttons together)
  5. Launch Odin3 on your PC
  6. Connect your Galaxy S3 to your computer
  7. Wait for Odin to recognize your device
  8. Click the PDA button in Odin
  9. Find the ‘CF-Auto-Root-m0-m0xx-gti9300.tar.md5″ and load it into Odin
  10. Make sure that Re-Partition is disabled
  11. Click Start
  12. Once the root process is complete, Odin will say “PASS” and the phone will reboot
  13. You’re done once it’s done rebooting.
