LG Spectrum users rejoice, the OTA push out of Ice Cream Sandwich is happening now. Just yesterday Verizon made it official that an update to ICS was coming soon, and with a quick turnaround the carrier has begun the rollout of the updated OS this evening.

The update is fairly substantial, so LG and Verizon have made efforts to help users understand some of the biggest changes, such as finding widgets, and how to use the new app drawer layout. Some of these tips are embedded directly into the OS to help guide users immediately following the update.

Making the jump from Android 2.3 Gingerbread to ICS is a major milestone for this device, and users are already reporting favorable opinions of the update. Device owners can expect to have access to Face Unlock, a new browser, and several interface updates. Users can begin attempting to download the update by tapping check for updates under settings.

Will this update breathe new life into a device that has been out since the beginning of the year?
