Archos now has a brand new 9.7-inch tablet running Ice Cream Sandwich. So why aren’t these OEMs putting Jelly Bean on these devices before making them available for us to purchase? Jelly Bean has been out for roughly 3 months now, it’s about time we started seeing new devices launch with Jelly Bean. The only one so far has been the Samsung Galaxy Note II.

The 97 Xenon tablet features the same display as the 97 Carbon which was just released a few months ago. The display is at a 1024×768 resolution on its’ 9.7-inch IPS display. Powered by a 1.4-GHz single-core processor, 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal space. So what exactly can you do with only 512MB of RAM? Guess you can only run 2-3 apps at the same time. The 97 Xenon is also featuring 3G, Wifi, and GPS, along with a front-facing camera which is .3MP and a rear-facing camera at 2.0MP. The tablet also has a Micro SD Card slot.

This new tablet is being showcased over on Archos’ website, in Europe as well as the US. But we still don’t have any idea on pricing or when you’ll be able to grab it. Since it does feature 3G, what carriers do you think will pick this one up? I’m almost positive that Verizon won’t be picking it up.

The device doesn’t exactly have drool-able spec’s. But this would make for a great budget tablet. Then again what’s a budget tablet these days? You can get a quad-core Tegra 3 tablet running Jelly Bean (yes, I’m talking about the Nexus 7) for under $200. So how well do you think this one will sell? Especially given that it’s running last years Android operating system? We’ve got a few pictures in the gallery below for you, and you can get more information at the source link below.
