How often do you use Google Translate? Well, I personally use it a couple of times daily. (Mostly when listening to Pitbull :D). It is a great tool to translate any text from its original language to a language of your preference, all on the go.

Recent update has brought some great features to the G-Translate app with the prominent one being the ability to translate pictures taken from your device’s camera. This new features allows you to take a picture and then translate part of it by highlighting the text. No more worries about those big red signs in a foreign language, all you need now is an Android device with Google Translate and you’re good to go.

The new features is fairly simple to use, take a picture within the app and then highlight the text that you want to be translated by sliding your finger over it, Voila! Your text has been translated. This requires internet connection so make sure that you’re either connected to Wi-Fi or have a Data plan. The new features will only work on devices running Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS or higher.

Other small features include ability to choose a preferred dialect for voice input, translate-as-you-type and minor bug fixes to make the interface more user friendly and smooth. This app is definitely a must-have for travelers and tourists, and as I already said If you’re a Pitbull fan, you need this believe me. 😉
