From the Dawn of creation, the Council has maintained the balance across existence. Carrying out their orders are the Horsemen, nephilim (powerful beings spawned from the unnatural Union of Angels and demons) who have pledged themselves to the Council and been granted immense power. However, this power came at a tragic cost: the Horsemen were ordered to use their newfound strength to wipe out the rest of their kind. What followed was a bloody battle on Eden where the Horsemen, obeying the will of the Council, annihilated the nephilim. Still reeling from the events on Eden, war and strife have been given a new assignment -- lucifer, the enigmatic and deceptive demon King, has been plotting to upset the balance by granting power to master demons throughout Hell. War and strife must hunt down these Masters, gather information, and ultimately fight their way through a tangled, demonic conspiracy that threatens to forever upset the balance and unravel all of creation. Darksiders: Genesis is an action/adventure that tears its way through hordes of demons, Angels, and everything in-between on its way to Hell and back with guns blazing and swords swinging. Genesis gives players their first look at the world of darkness before the events of the original game, as well as introduces the Horseman strife.

I bought this game used then I found out that the stream code is already in use you know I thought I could play it as a stand alone game but apparently you can't do that so I returned it what a waste of my time
If you were expecting this to be a Diablo-like or another isometric action RPG in the same vein as Grim Dawn, Path of Exile, Diablo, then please look elsewhere. This is essentially Darksiders 1 and 2 with a different camera view. Is that a bad thing? No, not necessarily.
Given the launch price, it seems fair and reasonable for a game of this much content. Although the gameplay does become monotonous after a few hours in, and you begin to feel the repetitive nature kick in quickly.
There's not much to dislike about the game. The level design is great, the action of the gameplay is a lot of fun, and graphics are just beautiful. The environments are really nice and the particle effects looks great. If you like the art and graphics appearance of games like Warcraft or DOTA 2, you'll enjoy the art direction here, but Darksider does it better.
The game runs extremely well, even on lower end computers, so pretty much everyone will be able to play this title with relative ease.
The only downside to the game is the camera can be a bit wonky in places, leading to a few annoying moments throughout the game. It's a common problem and doesn't break the game, you just have to work around it sometimes.
Overall, it's a fun game, that both looks and performs well, and has an interesting enough story, especially for fans of the series. If you're coming in as a newcomer, the dialogue and story bits might not appeal to you as much, but that's a common issue for being a game this far into a franchise.

If you are a fan of the Darksiders series, this is a no brainer. Each entry has had its own unique approach to the adventure, and Dark Siders Genesis continues that formula.
Many people compare it to Diablo, but trust me, ITS NOT DIABLO. It feels like a darksiders game, only from the top side view. Graphics are great. The sound track is great. Action, story, GREAT.
Strife is a shooter and melee fighter, while war is a basically a tank, and he fights exactly how he fought in darksiders 1 !!! Im only a few chapters in and I love this game. I wanted it for xbox one, but couldnt wait that long, so I bought it for PC and Im glad I did. Load times and graphics are 10 times better Im sure! The only con about this game is the camera at times. You cant see your character and what hes doing or who hes fighting because of structures in the way. Its not that bad, but a little annoying. Also, the map doesn't show where your character exactly is. It only shows the " area". Another small annoyance I hope they will fix in later games.
Overall, VERY GOOD GAME. Please support these guys so they can continue the series.
it ends. And it ends quick. I beat the campaign in <5 hours and all there is left is a horde mode (waves of enemies). But I really enjoyed the coop. I like the combat and the progression system. But this should be $15 for how short it is. Makes me wonder why they put such an obvious amount of effort into the engine and mechanics, only to deliver such little content. If there was still a way to rent videogames, I would say rent this one.
I bought this as an offline game because I have limited internet. It came with 2 DVD's but still required almost 10 gigabytes of download from steam. I wasted my money which Amazon wont refund.
