These Mighty Slinky 8.5-40 strings are great!
Decided to try these on a squire bullet tele, I'd usually go with 9s or even 10s but wanted to try something different. Love the balanced tone I get now. Maybe not for everyone, best with a lighter touch and thinner pick, but these seem to ring. My tele sounds even better than ever, compared with the slinky 10s I had on it.... plays so easy and doing those country bends is amazing. If you have a bullet tele, give them a try!

These are the best strings out there...for one they are affordable, two they don't have all this coatings bs that charges more and messes with the tone... I have been using for over 20 years (most on floyds 10's) yes they break like every other string out, but when they do break on a floyd they always break on the high E just in front of the saddle...these are a no bs, sound great for a long time, stay in tune(after break in time) for along time, who wants to pay 10.99 or more for a set...nickel wound strings are designed years ago for the electric guitar its that simple! I'll always buy these for years to come!

Been playing for 30 years and finally decided to settle on a standard string for each of my electrics. Cycled through several brand such as GHS Boomers, GHS Gilmour, D'Addario XL & NYXL, DR's and a few others. Kept coming back to Slinky's. They play smooth, last forever, quick break in and, maybe its my imagination, but the tone suits my playing. Bends seem smoother and my calouses dont get chewed up during a 4 hour jam sesh. I'm a finger player so some strings, esp lighter gauges, just twang too much or have too much grab. Depending on the guitar, I am using Slinky 8.5, 9 and 10's, and I find I am able to use lower gauges without tone loss, sustain issues or sacrificing feel.

I use these strings for a drop C tuning on a Les Paul (24.75 scale) and they sound great. Before this guitar was in standard E. I was afraid I would have to mess around with the nut, but actually everything went real easy. The only thing I needed to do was making sure the intonation was correct, and it only took 15 minutes. I gave 4 starts on brightness because this is a lower tuning so, naturally, it's a less bright tone, and also on a Les Paul with vintage pickups the tone is dark (naturally), but there is nothing wrong at all. I have historically used a different brand of strings and this was just a try for me, but I'm really liking these Ernie Balls strings now so I may stick with them for a while. Great set of strings!

I've been using E Ball strings for decades and here's my opinion -
Versatile Gauge: The mix of lighter and heavier strings is great. It makes playing solos and bending strings easier while still giving a strong sound for chords and rhythm.

Good Tone: These strings have a bright and balanced tone that fits different music styles. They make my guitar sound clear and full.

Durable: They last a decent amount of time. Even after a lot of playing, they hold up without breaking.

Comfortable: The nickel wound strings feel smooth and are easy on the fingers, making long playing sessions more comfortable.

If there's one thing that goes with the territory it's the break-in Period. There’s a short time when the strings are new that they go out of tune a bit until they settle in.

Overall, the Ernie Ball Hybrid Slinky Nickel Wound Electric Guitar Strings are a solid choice. They’re versatile, comfortable, and sound great. There are a couple of minor downsides, but they don’t take away from the overall quality and performance. I recommend them for anyone looking for a reliable set of guitar strings.

I use these strings on all of my guitars. They sound great and are very durable, after a while they will loose tone and rust because they are not coated but they get the job done and i like them better than daddario xt strings. They do hold tone for about three months and maybe a bit longer depending on how you use them

Love the bendiness of 8’s… but as they wear in the low strings can feel a bit noodly for me. Anything above 9’s on my SG and I start to miss the brightness and ease of lighter gauges. (Other hybrid gauges that go all the way down to 8 tend to exaggerate and go up to 46, inspired by Zappa & Yngwie, etc.)

This is such a perfect combo. I’m really glad EB started making them!
