I had my laptop of 3 ish years that just got battered up over time. The fans were constantly clicking, the mic jack was broken, the battery was showing its age, screws were falling out, the chassis was dented, and the screen was so broken I could only see the top half. I held off claiming my insurance just because I thought they were just going to repair one minor thing and called it goodies or "reimburse" me to the minimum amount rather than what I originally paid for the laptop. I was genuinely surprised when I decided to claim it seeing I got nothing to lose and Asurion did not disappoint. Within one week of sending it back, the laptop was processed and deemed irreparable (no kidding). They reimbursed the full amount of the original value of the laptop and the check was in my mailbox within 10 days of the final evaluation. A+.

I normally don't buy in to these extended warranty deals.. I always worry that they won't actually do much and I'm just making the initial purchase more expensive.
But I decided to roll the dice and I bought the extended plan to cover the new laptop my daughter took to college. Only about a year in she had a mishap that cracked the screen. I was pretty frustrated but then I remembered the plan I had purchased. Once I activated the warranty things were so easy.. I was rush shipped a box in which to send in the broken laptop (I didn't even need the original box which was great!) and within only a few days after they got it the decision was made to refund the ORIGINAL purchase price of that laptop. No devaluation garbage or anything. And within another week(ish) I had a check in hand.
So I used that money to replace that laptop with a new one. SO GLAD I bought this plan.. it paid for itself almost 10x on that expensive computer. Needless to say I added the protection plan on the replacement laptop.

I purchased an HP laptop that became defective within 3 months. HP admitted no design fault on their part so I filed a claim online with Asurion.

In contrast to HP, Asurion Insurance handled the situation with utmost professionalism and efficiency. As soon as I reached out to them, they took immediate action.
Asurion swiftly took my computer in for assessment. Their responsiveness was a breath of fresh air after my ordeal with HP.
They quickly diagnosed the issue and provided a solution.
Throughout the process, Asurion's customer service was impeccable. They kept me informed at every step and ensured that my concerns were addressed promptly.

Thanks to Asurion Insurance, my issue was resolved quickly and professionally. It was money well spent.

My laptop screen stopped displaying anything. Contacted Asurion and after giving them all of the information, including the ordering number and copy of the invoice they diagnosed my laptop as un-fixable and sent a check for the full purchase amount. Check arrived within a week. Great email and text communication. Recommend.

I purchased a computer and service plan. My computer stopped working properly so I contacted Asurion. They sent me a box and shipping label within 2 days. I sent it back to them which was another 2 days. I got a response from them 2 days after that saying my computer could not be repaired due to the part is no longer available (maybe because of embargo issues). Anyway, they notified me that I would be receiving a check in the mail within 7-10 days. The check came in about 9 days. I was refunded the full cost of purchase price which I used to purchase a replacement. Great right? NO! This is where it goes downhill.
While talking to the agent on the phone, she told me about their new service plan where you pay $16.99 a month to cover all of your electronics, no matter how many you purchase. It can be cancelled at any time. I thought it sounded good to me since I have hundreds of dollars worth of plans I have purchased already this year, and this would save some money.
Then I received 3 emails saying the service plans I had purchased on 3 other items in the end of last year (one being a 65" OLED TV), were cancelled. It says "customer cancelled" to be specific. I called back and told them I had not cancelled anything and that I wanted all of the plans put back on those products. I was told I signed up for the monthly service plan so they were going to include these purchases "for me".
I asked her if I decided to cancel the month to month contract, would I be able to then get a plan put back on individual products since they have been covered under a plan since purchase, even though the 30 days may have passed. I was told, NO. If you cancel the plan, none of those electronics will be covered.
I was furious and after a very long conversation that went nowhere, I asked to speak to a supervisor. The supervisor said there was nothing she could do. She told me to contact Amazon and get it re-instated that way. I was transferred back and forth between departments in both Asurion and Amazon 6 times over several hours of conversations.
The end result? I did not get refunded those service plans that were cancelled, I did not get new plans put onto the products, I did not old plans enabled. Would I recommend Asurion to anyone else? Probably not.

Wouldn't trust a lot of 3rd party repair packages but these guys are top notch. Only gripe is they probably didn't need to wipe the drive but they did warn they might and I did make a backup, so no big deal. (They missed having to disable vmd in bios for my 3rd party Samsung SSD)

Overall the repair was perfect.

It has been good in the past. I have not used it for the laptop yet so I don't know how to rate it. Otherwise, I would maybe give it 5 stars.
