all you do is click a button on the end sticking out and then whatever sync button the controller has and wait for it to sync, which will alert you with a rumble from the controller when it syncs (for playstation controllers and the wii remote at least) the only issue i have with the playstation controller on this is purely the fact of the "A" and "B" buttons being swapped but it only ever bothered me in menus. motion control from playstation controllers even works on this though is not as sensitive as a switch controller, with the dualsense at least. also, the button configuration for the wii remote will require some changes using it on switch for it to be natural. and it's used on it's side, the a button is the a input, but the b button is the x input, 1 is y and 2 is b + - and home are all the same. i haven't used an xbox controller with it but i feel like it would be the same story as with the dualsense/dualshock controllers except not having motion control at all. this thing can only connect to one controller at a time, as clicking the sync button on it would disconnect any controller connected to it already, and you can easily re sync your controllers back to their original consoles the way they are supposed to.

This review is for the new (Amazon date first available 12/6/2021, version 2) “8Bitdo Wireless USB Adapter 2”.
Short version:
Confirmed, as of 1/20/2022, the new “8Bitdo Wireless USB Adapter 2” completely supports Xbox Series X|S controllers in Bluetooth BLE wirelessly on Nintendo Switch. Bluetooth pairing is under 3 seconds. Reconnection is about 2 seconds after the initial pairing. No lag from what I could experience. All buttons, including the new Share button, can be remapped by using 8bitdo Ultimate Software. However, profile needs to be reactivated every time Switch wake up from sleep. Which is a bit troublesome.

Long version:
I have been using four 8bitdo SN30 Pro+ and Pro2 controllers on my two Nintendo Switches for almost two years. SN30 Pro’s are great controllers. 8bitdo has great after sale support especially frequent firmware upgrades to fix problems. Things changed over Thanksgiving time. I bought my first Metrodvania 2D side scroll platform game, Ori and the Will of the Wisps. The left stick of SN30 pro2 hurt my left thumb after long play because of its position. BTW, I am 60 years old, most players are younger than me and most likely won’t have my problem. I also have four Playstation 4 controllers but they have the same left stick position. Xbox controller should help because left stick is on top and closer to edge so my left thumb does not have to extend wide as on the SN30 Pro2 and Dualshock4.
Bought a Xbox Series X|S controller over black Friday sale from COSTCO and discovered it does not work with the Mayflash Magic-NS and Magic-N I already have. Though Mayflash adaptors claimed they work with all Xbox controllers. Later found out this was because Xbox Series controllers now use Bluetooth BLE instead of the Classic mode. I spent days researching and couldn’t find much information other than everybody just reported how they couldn’t use Xbox series control on Switch. BTW, there are cumbersome or expensive (more than $30) way to do it but I don’t want to either use two adapters in serial, nor pay more than $30 to buy another adaptor, so this new Xbox Series controller can only be used to play Dolphin emulator games on PC. BTW, it works great with Dolphin emulator on PC.
I regain hope after reading someone in different item review on Amazon mentioned the 8Bitdo Wireless USB Adapter 2 works with his Xbox Series controller. I decided to give it one more try. I don’t want to bore you with how difficult is was for me to finally receive this adaptor 14 days after ordering with Prime shipping, just hope your purchase experience will be easier than mine.
Today I am playing Ori on switch with Xbox Series X|S controller WIRELESSLY. Happy ending.

Xbox Controller

I had a heck of a time trying to get this thing to work. I had to search around online quite a bit to find a way to get it to work. Now that I finally got it working, I have had no problems.

Initially, the Switch recognized my controller, but it just would not work. It would power on, connect to the controller, then just power off (the light that says it’s on). I had to do an update to the device, which was kind of a pain, and having a Mac, it was a bit more difficult than Windows, I’m sure.

Anyway, I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because the set up sucked, but other than that, it’s been a great product to use an XBox (Series X/S) controller instead of having to buy the more expensive Nintendo Pro Controller. I don’t actually have an XBox, so when I hit the power button on the controller, it does wake up the Switch, which is super convenient.

I hope you have a more seamless and easier set-up experience than I did, and despite my issues, I would recommend this product.

I bought this strictly for the Playstation Classic so I can pair them with my PS5 controller. I had to buy a special micro USB hub that daisy chain from the power source from the Playstation Classic console but it does work with it. I ended up buying 2 of this product not knowing at the time it was 1 dongle to 1 controller pairing even though it's a Bluetooth device. Hence why I only gave 3 stars on value, even though I was going to give it a 2 I realized that it does hook up to the PC and Switch so I guess it has some added value.
I could understand why on a console it is one to one pairing due to how the console may interact with the controller but the PC, now that I can't see the limitation.

Pairing is simple, it's pretty much plug and play.

Longevity wise I'm not sure but I do hope that this dongle would be useful in the future even if it's something niche.

今更かもしれませんが、レトロフリークで無線化できましたので共有させていただきます。
どなたか参考になれば幸いです。

以下の方法で手持ちの8BitDoコントローラーPro2の設定を行いました。(ついでにM30も無線化できました)

【1】8BitdoワイヤレスUSBアダプター2をレトロフリークのUSBポートに差す。ペアリングスイッチ押す。激しく点滅開始。

【2】Pro2のモードスイッチ→Xにする
Pro2のスタートボタン押す→電源ON→ペアリングボタン3秒長押。ランプが波打つ。

しばらく反応を待つ。

【3】アダプターのランプが点滅から点灯に変わる。
コントローラーも点灯に変わる(ランプ1番左側の1箇所だけ点灯)ブルッと振動する。

【4】レトロフリークのメニュー画面で、コントローラーを動かして十字キー、ボタンの反応は問題ないか確認。(決定ボタンはAになっているはず)

コントローラーの登録を行い、ボタンの割り当てがうまくいけばOK。

【5】うまくいかない場合は1と2を逆にして再度設定してみてください。

どうしようもない場合や、以前他の機器と接続していた場合などは、他の投稿者さんも書いておられますが、STARTボタン長押しで一度電源を落とし、方向キーの左とSELECTボタンを3秒以上同時押しで、一度解除(初期化かな？)後、STARTボタンで自動ペアリング或いは最初から設定すれば認識するようです。

M30の解除は、STARTボタン長押しで一度電源落とし、方向キーの左とSTARTボタンを3秒以上同時押しで解除。だと勝手に思ってますが、実際この方法でうまくいったので間違いないかと。

ちなみに現時点(届いた状態)で8Bitdo ワイヤレスUSBアダプター2のバージョンは最新だったので、アップデートは必要なさそうです。定期的にアップデートされているかもしれませんので、念の為、8Bitdo社のHPで確認��てみてください。
