I had to do a bit of research when wanting to expand the storage on my PS5.
There are quite a few 1TB SSDs to choose from that can be used in the PS5, but I eventually chose this lexar nm790 with heatsink.
Firstly, a few points on adding this to the PS5, if you're thinking about it.
1. It does not effect the warranty on the PS5.
2. Fitting it is easy - remove the PS5 cover (no screws, it just slides off... There is a nack to it and there's plenty of videos out there that will help, including one by Playstation Support); remove 1 screw from the dedicated SSD panel, remove the panel, remove the SSD locating screw, insert and slide-in the SSD, gently screw the locating screw in place, replace SSD panel and screw, replace PS5 cover. Turn on PS5 and format the new SSD.
Been using this SSD for about a month, never faltered, seems as fast as the built in one.
