Product = fanxiang S660 2TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD M.2 2280 Internal Solid State Drive - with Heatsink, Up to 4800MB/s, Perfectly Compatible with PS5, Dynamic SLC CacheWhich was only £72.24 (One of the cheapest NVME SSDs you can buy for the speeds it claims to produce)Works but came with 3 power on counts. (Refer to picture)Probably from factory testing? (No idea but basically new, so not worried there)Speeds were similar to SATA speeds, but this was with the SSD inside an enclosure. So I may get faster speeds using a direct PCIe connection.Cannot speak for longevity with these types of products; only time will tell.At the end of the day, "You get what you pay for."So if that saying is true, I will expect this to fail within its Warrantied "1400TBW", and only then will we figure out how this company Fanxiang solves warranty replacement.I tried fitting the SSD inside the Heat spreader it came with, but it was very loose unless you used a thermal pad. It comes with 4 thermal pads, 2 thin (grey) and 2 thicker ones (white)I tried installing this onto the SSD with no luck.I don't understand why 1 white pad doesn't fit (Maybe it just needs to be mangled shut and will be alright)Using 2 grey pads, it was too loose still.Comes with a screw and a screwdriver in the box.It seems to work okay for now, but I will update this if anything happens to the SSD or when I manage to test it inside a PCIE direct connection to verify if the advertised speeds are accurate.

So I brought this SSD as my ps5 was lacking storage. Once received I opened it up and hooked it in. The easy connectivity to just slot it in and voila. the performance is incredibly with high speed transfers and great for next gen ps5 games with no loading at all. Gaming is easy and fast with this SSD and has a massive amount of space included. there’s has been no problems with temperature and has kept cool even playing on the most demanding triple A tittles like Jedi survivor which takes full advantage of this fast SSD. This is the perfect SSD for gamers and I really do recommend it.

As mentioned in the title, the Heatsink is not fixed. It comes with 2 types heat transfer ( soft ) strips, 2 of each. No explanation of how and where to apply in the instructions.

I benchmarked it using Linux utility called Disks for transfer rates, was getting 3GB/s for reads and slightly less around 2.7GB/s for writes.

Overall very good value for money. Wish the Heatsink was pre installed to remove guess work..

Bought this to increase the memory on my PS5.
I was wary as this was one of the cheaper items available but probably because you have to fit the heatsink yourself. The downside is that it doesn’t come with any instructions on how to assemble and fit the heatsink - so I will try and explain: the box contains the chipset, the base and top of the heatsink and 4 thermal strips - 2 thick and 2 thin. The white ones are the thick ones and the grey one are the thin ones.
Fit a white (thick) thermal strip into the base of the heatsink. (Remember to remove the transparent thin protective film from each side of the strips as you progress). Place the chipset on top of this with the chips facing up. Place a grey (thin) thermal strip on top of the chipset. Carefully remove the protective film and then carefully fit the top of the heatsink - this fits by carefully pressing down until it clicks in. Installing into the PS5 was straightforward.
The PS5 recognised the new memory when turned on - asked to be formatted which I did - job done. I have now transferred a number of my games onto the memory stick and tried running them with no problems. So would definitely recommend based on the price as it does exactly what it’s supposed to do.
