About this item

  • DESIGNED FOR PERFORMANCE: Due to the high static pressure, the fan guarantees efficient cooling even with increased air resistance. Suitable for use on heat sinks & radiators
  • PROVEN FAN DESIGN: The closed ring fan wheel enables low-vibration rotation at high speeds and strong resistances while maintaining high static pressure
  • WIDE RPM RANGE: Thanks to the 4-pin connector, the speed can be controlled via PWM. Below 3 % PWM the fan stands still, above 3 % it is infinitely variable between 400-2800 rpm
  • FLUID DYNAMIC BEARING: Long service life, silent operation at low speeds and powerful performance at maximum speed
  • OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE: Most powerful 140 mm fan, 25 years of experience, direct customer support, many years of spare parts supply, CO2 neutral company

Pushes a ton of air, However loud motor noise & some rattle
ARCTIC P14 Max Black - ReviewI was excited to get these fans. On paper, the specifications look very promising. Unfortunately, I ran into some issues. On both of my units, I have some issues with rattle and loud motor noise. Having a 0rpm mode is great as it reduces noise. But for my units whenever the fan initially spins up, it creates a rattle sound. This rattle also is present at very low RPMs (under 320rpm). I have mine installed horizontally so this may not be the case for vertically mounting. This is quite annoying and not ideal if you are looking for a quiet computer. The ideal speed for noise is 1200rpm in my experience. Higher than this the motor buzz is overwhelming and annoying. If you are looking for a great value fan to maximise performance and don’t care too much for acoustics, this is a great option as this pushes a ton of air when above 2000rpm.In conclusion, For £ 10.99 at the time of review, these fans are insane value for the performance on offer. I am unsure if the issues I faced are just down to my units as at this current time there are supply issues and Arctic support cannot help me with a replacement otherwise I’d of given them another chance. 3/5 stars.

I bought these due to their specs (static pressure and airflow) they replaced my lian li sl 120v2's as I didn't care for the rgb, and these are insane.

So much airflow and they are great at pushing air through rads and through dust filters.

Good performance at higher RPMs, but at lower RPMs there's a noticeable ticking sound. This is worse in a couple of fans than the others which indicates possible quality control issues. Not ideal if you want a silent PC.

Let me start this review off by addressing somethings I see in the reviews:
First off the max rpm of these fans is 2800 rpm, if you are running 5 of these in your system and you turn them alllll the way up to 2800rpm, THEY WILL BE LOUD... OBVIOUSLY. There is not a fan out there in the world that is NOT loud at 2800 rpm. That being said, MOST of the time, no one is going to be running these fans at full rpm. I have 5 of these 140mm arctic max' in my system and I'm water cooling 4 gpus (3 3080s and a 3090) plus a threadripper pro and unless I'm putting the system under full load (3d rendering or heavy cpu calculations) then the fans run between 400rpm-1000rpm.
At 400rpm these fans are sub-audible and my system is basically entirely silent.
I bought these as they were a great deal more economical than noctuas and so far they have performed great, especially as rad fans as they have great static pressure and are very affordable.
The only couple downsides that I've seen with these is if I try to drop all them to below 400 rpm, they seem to struggle. I'm sure if this is because I have all 5 of them connected to a single fan controller (using a series of splittlers) or if this is some sort of malfunction. But below 400 rpm some of the fans will begin turning off and on producing an audible sound as the fan starts up. My solution to this was to just leave the fans lowest curve point to be 400 rpm and everything runs just fine (and as I mentioned before, sub audibly). Again, I don't know if this is my own fault as I have yet to test them on another fan controller but this is the only real reason I can think of to give these fans 4 stars instead of 5. Personally this isnt really a big issue for me but I could see it maybe being an issue for others. I don't really see any reason why you would want your fans to completely shut off when they run silently at 400 rpm, it's not really a feature I care about personally.
Another thing to be aware of is the power draw required for these fans. A single arctic P14 Max requires 12volts at roughly 0.4 amps, which is high for a pc fan but not high when you compare to other fans that perform at similarly high rpms. This is just something to be aware of as a lot of fan headers are only rated for 12watts and each one of these fans requires 4watts (12volts x 0.4).
In conclusion, these are nicely performing fans that offer a wide range of rpm speeds and a nice value for the money. I would highly recommend these to anyone looking to cool their system when performing a wide range of heavy tasks.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great fans

Since I bought the Lancool 216, I have eagerly awaited the official release of the P14 MAX. Before this, I was using the P12 and F12 fans. The quality of these fans is quite good, and compared to the P12 and F12 at the same RPM, they are quieter and provide greater airflow, even at higher RPM when needed.

There is an issue with the thickness when installing them above the power supply. The Lancool 216 only comes with screws that are approximately 27-28mm long, but the P14 MAX is particularly thick and requires screws of around 30-32mm. It would be better if they were included separately.

5.0 out of 5 stars Not directly comparable against the Noctua NF-A14, but there's no doubt this is a good fan
Reviewed in the United States on 26 April 2024
Style Name: P14 Max (1 Pack)Verified Purchase
Been using Noctua NF-A14s on my 280mm AIO for my R7 7800X3D in a SSUPD Meshroom S (I know a 280mm is overkill for this processor, I originally had a 7900X in there), and recently decided to switch up to these fans since I've had good experiences with Arctic products and I know the P12 Max is an excellent fan.

Out of the box the first thing to note at 27mm, it is the same thickness as the normal P14, but this is a slightly thicker fan compared to other 140mm fans out there that are usually 25mm thick. This made it slightly cramped w/ my case since I use a fan grille, but there was still enough space. Unlike the normal P14 which only maxes out at 1700rpm (which made them quiet even at 100% rpm, great for radiators, but less flexible if you wanted to run a fan very fast and very loud), the P14 Max has a max RPM of 2800rpm (my Gigabyte B650i reported a max of of ~2700rpm), significantly higher, which also meant I had to detune my fan curves since the Noctua NF-A14 only has a 1500rpm max. At similar RPMs and noise levels though I did end up with about the same temps on my 7800X3D (CPU draws ~89W in Cinebench R23, pump always at 100%, CPU temps ~77.5C).

The fan feels very well-built, and the only "complaint" I have is unlike the P14 PWM, there's no fan header daisy chaining option available. Thankfully the fan cable is of a decent length and is pretty easy to hide. Rubber padding along the 4 corners for anti-vibration isn't necessary but a great nice-to-have.

The price varies a bit, but at the time of this review (and the time I ordered these fans) they're $13 each. Sure for a similar amount of money you can get a 3-pack of Thermalright TL-C12C-S 120mm ARGB fans, but this is a great price for a performance 140mm fan. It performs well, can push out a lot of air through a radiator from the sheer RPMs if noise isn't a concern,. If you don't need RGB, this is an excellent no-nonsense fan. However, these fans absolutely need proper PWM control, you need to have a way to control fan speeds because otherwise, 2800rpms max means this fan can get very loud. Once tuned though, these fans are great. I will note however the P14 PWM PST is still a good option if the price is right (currently Arctic's fan pricing is all over the place), since if you don't need the ability to go fast on the fan RPM or if you're a bit more noise sensitive and you know you have enough cooling headroom to warrant using a slower fan, the P14 is still more than enough for AIOs/radiators and has fan header daisy-chaining.
