Best time to buy a vita!

Best time to buy a vita!
I have been on the edge to buy a Vita since it came out, but the price has hold me back from buying it for a year. Now with this amazing bundle I finally got won over by Sony, and I'm glad I did! An 8GB memory card and 10 games to get you going makes this an absolute steal. To be honest, you won't like all the games they bundle with this. Half of the games you won't be too much interested in, but you don't have to. Just the 8 gigs of storage included gives you a better deal than buying a vita on its own. I personally am loving wipeout 2048 and lbp psvita is in my opinion the best one in the series. I also relived some memories with ratchet and clank and lemmings. The people that complain about the playstation vita are often the ones that have bought the system at launch, meaning that there weren't too many games out and some minor flaws were present, but buy it now and the best games are available to you day one and for a fraction for the price(, not to forget that with playstation plus you get many games such as uncharted for free), so this system will keep you busy for a very long time. If you are CONSIDERING getting a vita GET ONE NOW. Great games available from the get-go + awesome games to look forward to in the future. if you want a more in-depth look of the system you can continue reading...-additional information-Screen: Overall I am loving the screen. Vibrant colours and a nice amount of pixels p/inch. Once I First booted up my Vita a was a bit disappointed with the screen as the colour consistency felt a bit off to me, but as I started playing my first game I took everting backI thought. I must say that when the screen is producing a certain type of black, some darker marks are visible which appears to be a normal thing with all 'oled' screens, but I have not find this bothersome during gameplay. The touch screen is also super responsive (a good thing) even more responsive than my iPad.Comfortability: Holding the device properly takes some getting use to. I have large hands and I find myself touching the back touchpad by mistake. It is not very heavy even though it doesn't even come close to the weight of a modern smartphone. I would say it is about the weight of an iPad mini.I you want to carry this thing around in your pockets you'll need large and deep ones. It is generally ok, but if you wear skinny jeans, you might struggle.Battery: Good, considering it how much power it has. You won't get it through a whole day though if you playing a graphically intense game, but by playing some psp titles you can play this thing for ages.Overall a 5 star deal!+ Best possible Vita deal right now+ 10 games will keep you busy for a while+ vibrant, responsive screen- Can be difficult to carry in pocket- proprietary memory cards

There are plenty of reviews for Vita around Amazon and the web in general so I'll keep this review simple and focus on the "bundle" itself. The bundle consists of:

PS Vita
8gb memory card
10 games

If you've been sat on the fence for a while thinking "Should I? Shouldn't I?" like me, then don't waste anymore time and grab yourself this bundle. Considering the stand-alone prices for each item (Vita wi-fi version £179.99, the 8gb memory card £25, 10 games approx £80-£100) the total cost if purchasing items separately will be in the region of £300 then you'd be silly to pass on this £169.99 bundle of joy.

The 10 free games are a great bonus for the bundle. I'm not surprised some of them were provided for free because I find it hard why someone would waste money on some of the 10 games. Half of them are really good and I will spend some time on, the others are quick 'pick up play' while waiting for the bus type of games and in fact a complete waste of your time.

Little Big Planet - is great game for all ages. I've played on the PS3 versions too and there's very little difference, although a slimmed down version obviously. The game alone would cost £20-£40.

Wipeout - great little racer on the small screen. Big fan of racing games but never been the biggest of Wipeout. Great transfer to the small screen and looks crisp. Same as all other Wipeouts, race round some futuristic tracks at high speeds. Great game. Another £20-£40 game.

Motorstorm RC - Another great little racer. Not the style of the other Motorstorms, but more like the table-top Micro Machines racing games. Great fun. One more £20-£40 game for free.

Ratchet & Clank - if you;vebeen playing computer games for many years then you'll be familar with R&C. A game ported over from PSP and when first playing you can't half tell due to the poor graphics. Still a great game if you don't mind playing the with old school graphics. In its day this will have been £20-£40.

Lemmings - ahhhh, good ol' Lemmings. A game I have not played for years and brings back great memories. Great little strategy game. If you're a young pup and not played this game, you have not lived yet! Can get frustrating the harder levels but still an awesome game.

Little Deviants - I didn't give this one as much chance because i wanted the space on my memory card. When my 32gb turns up I'll give it another go. I only played the first two levels - seems to be a mixture of types of game. The first level I shot down some UFO type things n space. The second game I had to create mountains using the touch pad on the back of the Vita to roll the Little Deviants to collect keys and open portals. Early days so I'll update this hen I've given it a good go.

Frobisher Says - think of "Simon Says" and you're on the right path. The little guy Frobisher barks out some orders and you use the Vita to do as Frobisher says! Press buttons, aim at things, move analog sticks, tap sholder buttons, tilt phone are some of the ways to complete Frobishers tasks. You're under a time limit and you need to get as many as you can as fast as you can. A waiting for the bus time killer more than anything.

Ecolibrium - I like strategy games but this was terrible. You start with a near naked earth (only water & grass) and you aim is to build up an eco system and keep it healthy. You start by planting trees, but then you need a different type of tree because the first tree used too much moisture. You had to plant funghi to help moisture and then create some animals but they used other things in the eco system so you had to continuously build & tea things to balance it all out and create your wonderful eco-system. Some will like this game but for me it was really bad.

Hungry Giraffe - a slightly different take on the old snake game. You're a giraffe and your aim is to eat as many things as possible to keep you moving upwards (towards the never ending sky?). The things eaten give you a little bust upwards and if you keep missing food you'll eventually start falling back down and fail. Another time killer and not surprised it was included for free. Had to be shifted somewhere, right?

Rotating Octopus - As it says. you are a rotating octopus and you move around a square map along edges of things. You can turn the other way or jump, and your aim is to collect things that are dropped somewhere on the map. A pac-man type of move & eat game. Watch out for obstacles and barking dogs. Time killer but was soon deleted.

The first icon on the home screen when you turn on the Vita is a "welcome Park". A bunch of mini-games to get you familiar with some of the PS Vita features (touch screen, microphone, camera etc) and is designed for you to learn the basics while "having fun". They are very simple games and as an added bonus have trophies.

If you are a trophy hunter all of the free games also have trophies and also contribute to your PS3 trophies.

Included in the Vita pack is some mini augmented reality games and you have 6 cards to keep safe. The 6 cards are laid down on a flat surface (which card depends on the game, the game will instruct) and with the use of the camera you are provided with a "game screen". The football game got me playing 5 a side touch football on my coffee table. The diving game got me diving off my tv. A little gimmik and not much time will be spent on these. It does have trophies though.

The 8gb memory card is the absolute minimum. My 8gb was enough to hold the 10 free games but I guess the free games were chosen for the little storage that was used. I had to delete the augmented reality games though, to fit them all on. I know they're expensive and clearly daylight robbery but investing in a 32gb is an absolute must if you want to play some of the bigger & better games on sale.

Invest in this bundle if you're ever thinking of getting a Vita. It's a nice little starter kit that costs cheaper than the stand-alone Vita.

The games voucher that came with the package never worked. I left feedback for the seller but they didn't respond. The console has now stopped charging 5 weeks after purchase. I can't work out how to send this console back as there is only a 30 day returns po,licy on this product. Very unhappy customer.....can anyone help me out??

I chose this rating because I do not consider this a fair deal as the memory card given with this deal cannot hold the 10 games you are giving with it . It is no good of having 10 games if you cannot put them on an 8gb card

PS Vita may not have been the success Sony had hoped for, but since its recent price reduction and the creation of bundles like this one, it's actually a good buy.

The system itself is well built and good quality, the screen is sharp and vivid, the software is reasonably responsive and easy to use. The bundled games with this deal include some real greats - WipEout 2048 and Little Deviants particularly - and the inclusion of a memory card saves on any additional costs, this bundle has all the essentials you need to get started.

If I had to point out some gripes with the system they'd be that the analog sticks feel a little too close to the buttons which can sometimes get annoying, and also the library of games available for PS Vita isn't up to the quality or quantity of those available for Nintendo's 3DS. But neither of those points should stop anyone enjoying PS Vita, it's not perfect, but it's a good system at a fair price.

Honestly the price alone shows how good a bundle this is...

The same price as the console by itself (£169.99), yet this one comes with a 8gb memory card (£25) + 10 games (5 of them being very high-grade which add up to over £70)

So basically if you wanted a PS VITA but weren't too sure because of the memory costs then this is the bundle for you. plain and simple...

The PS VITA itself is a magnificent piece of hardware and innovation

- Back touchpad works very well, responsive, finger glides & easy to use. (multi-touch)
- Touch screen is also very responsive & fingers glide. (multi-touch)
- The UI of the VITA is EXTREMELY user friendly and customisable (such as application placements + background colours for every single page + closing and opening apps) zapping in and out of games or apps is very quick and easy.
- Start up time for the VITA from OFF --> gaming (assuming you've got the game downloaded or game card inserted) is negligible mere seconds...
- Shutting down time literally 2 seconds.
- The VITA downloads games in the background either in "sleep mode" or whilst gaming or whatever you're doing.
- The OLED screen is very bright, crystal clear and the colours vibrant (so much so i had to turn down the brightness by quite a lot)
- The dual-speakers on the VITA are very nice great audio (and about time).
- The dual-analog sticks are very nicely placed (my hands are on the large side and it works for me :)) minuscule dead-zone .I love how they are PROPER analog sticks that roll unlike the PSP.
- The directional-pad and the 4 buttons on the right, are VERY nice this time around they make a "click" in when depressed (not one you hear but feel it instead :P). These are also very nicely placed and very responsive.
- The L/R-shoulder buttons look pretty cool and took me by surprise they're made out of some sort of tainted plastic when looked at form above are black but when looked through when playing are clear :D (you may not find that interesting but i did, lol) in any case these 2-buttons work very well indeed just as responsive as the face buttons, also very accessible to your fingers :).
- The PS "home" & "Select / Start" buttons located below the analog stick will NEVER be accidentally hit, so don't worry about that (they also when depressed make the same "click" as the other face buttons.)
- The front/rear cameras are easy to use, great to use for games, photos, films & calls if you want :).
- There is a built-in microphone that picks up your voice crystal clear so very useful for cross game chat or chatting in general.
- The PS VITA is a VERY light console (looks heavy but surprisingly light) meaning long gaming sessions aren't a burden on your arms or hands, and carrying it around you'll hardly notice it (if in your pocket w/e) if it's in backpack or something of that ilk then you won't notice it's there.
- The AR ability of the VITA is really quite cool and works well.
- The battery-life of the VITA lasts a long time (when gaming) you could literally use this thing for listening to music or w/e and it'll last even longer by a huge amount.
- The web-browser of the VITA IS FAST AND ACTUALLY WORKS :D!!

The 8gb is a MUST need for the VITA (This has been my gripe with Sony in regards with the VITA is the prices of the cards... there should be at least 4gb MIN of inbuilt memory) but hey at least you get a free £25 8gb memory card with this bundle.

The 10 games include some real cool VITA games such a LBP, LD's, WO 2048, MS-RC, + a bunch of others (like the PSP ratchet & clank)

All in all this is an amazing console & an even more amazing bundle.
