GT3

Following its win in Portugal, 2017 24H SERIES Overall GT Teams’ ‘Continents’ champion Herberth Motorsport (#91) currently heads the teams’ standings in both GT3 overall and GT3-AM. The Bavarian squad started its European season with a hard-fought 2nd overall with its Porsche 992 GT3 R in Mugello.

E2P Racing (#90) currently leads the GT3-PRO/AM Teams’ standings. The Spanish team, which will compete with its 991.2-generation Porsche GT3 R in Misano, took its first GT3 class win in the 24H SERIES at Spa-Francorchamps, and backed that up with GT3-Pro/Am podium finishes in Mugello and Portimão.

Saintéloc Junior Team (#18) similarly remains in the hunt for GT3-PRO/AM honours. The French team has twice finished on the class podium so far this season, including an overall top three finish in Portugal. Two successive GT3-PRO/AM podiums in Mugello and Spa meanwhile mean Juta Racing (#71) currently lies 3rd in the GT3-PRO/AM standings. Like Saintéloc, the Lithuanian team will represent Audi Sport at the event, having entered an ‘EVO II’-spec Audi R8 LMS GT3.

Long-time Ferrari customer Kessel Racing will look to boost a strong European season opener on its series return. Entered once again as ‘BOEM by Kessel Racing’ (#8), the Ferrari 296 GT3 took its first overall pole in the 24H SERIES earlier this year in Mugello before going on to secure GT3-PRO/AM victory and an overall top five finish.

Reigning GT3 Teams’ champion Haas RT (#1) makes its return to the 24H SERIES at the Hankook 12H MISANO. The Antiguan team, which finished runners-up at Spa back in April, will be eyeing a second overall win for its Audi R8 LMS GT3 EVO II in only its second year of competitive motor racing.

2009 24H DUBAI winner Land Motorsport (#34) also makes its series return in Misano, and will look to put a tough weekend at Spa behind it with its Audi R8 LMS GT3 EVO II.

2017 Overall GT Teams’ ‘Europe’ champion Hofor Racing (#11) continues its full European campaign with its Mercedes-AMG GT3, and will be eying its first podium finish of the year in Italy. Series debutant PTT by Schnitzelalm Racing (#74) will also represent Mercedes at Misano, the Polish team having registered an AMG GT3 EVO.

Reigning GTX Teams’ champion RD Signs – Siauliai racing team (#69) continues its transition to the GT3 class in Emilia Romagna. After two luckless events for the Lithuanian team at Mugello and Spa, a good result can’t come soon enough for the Lamborghini Huracán GT3.

Prime Speed Sport (#42) rounds out the GT3 field thus far, and is set to make its 24H SERIES debut at the Hankook 12H MISANO. The New Zealand-based team has entered Aston Martin’s new ‘EVO’-spec Vantage GT3, marking the first time that the British marque’s new GT3 flagship will compete at a 24H SERIES event.

992 and GTX

Just four points separate the top three in 992-AM Teams’ standings heading into the Hankook 12H MISANO.

After a steady race in Belgium, reigning 992-AM Teams’ champion RPM Racing (#907) took its first class win of the season in Portimão. Fittingly, closest category rival SebLajoux Racing by DUWO Racing (#908), which is just two points behind the German team, also finished on the 992 podium in Portugal. The best category result yet for the French-Luxembourg collaboration.

Just two further points back, Orchid Racing Team (#917) continues its full European season campaign in Misano. The Swiss team collected a hard-earned podium with its sister car in Mugello, and will look to be back on the podium on 5-6 July.

Red Ant Racing, currently 1-2 in the overall 992 Teams’ standings, is keen to continue its winning momentum at the Hankook 12H MISANO. The Belgian team’s #903 Porsche 992 GT3 Cup has already taken three consecutive class wins in Mugello, Spa and Portimão. The sister #904 Porsche finished runner-up in-class in Belgium and Portugal, and is closing in on its first overall 992 win in the 24H SERIES.

Series staples MRS GT-Racing (#988), HRT Performance (#967) and Fulgenzi Racing (#922) round out the 992 field. The latter has confirmed two Porsche 992 GT3 Cups for the Hankook 12H MISANO, and, with its #967 entry, is in striking distance of the 992-AM title chase after taking a class win in Spa.

Former GTX Teams’ champion Vortex V8 (#701) is the category’s only confirmed entrant thus far, and currently leads this year’s GTX title fight thanks to two consecutive class wins at Spa and Portimão.

GT4 and TCX

Interestingly, the four different GT4 teams confirmed so far will represent four different manufacturers at this year’s Hankook 12H MISANO.

Like Red Ant Racing, Buggyra ZM Racing (#416) is unbeaten in GT4 across this year’s 24H SERIES’ European season,  and will be looking to add a fourth successive class win to its tally in Italy with its Mercedes-AMG GT4.

Lionspeed GP (#424) continues its full European season in Misano, and will be looking to secure a third category podium of the year – if not a first win – for its Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport.

After a successful weekend in Spa, Belgium’s Hamofa Motorsport (#419) returns to the 24H SERIES on 5-6 July with its ‘G82’ generation BMW M4 GT4, and will be looking to notch up another podium in the Adriatic.

Belgian compatriot StreetArt Racing (#407) rounds out the GT4 field so far, and has confirmed an Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT4 for Misano. After a long-awaited return, the British marque will be represented in the 24H SERIES’ GT4 class for the first time since the Hankook 24H DUBAI in 2022.

Alongside its GT3 entry, Schnitzelalm Racing (#111) has registered a ‘Type 982’ Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 CS for the TCX class. The series newcomer is set to go head-to-head with the Ginetta G55 of former SP3 and TCX Teams’ champion CWS Engineering (#178).

Following ‘CREVENTIC track days’ on the Wednesday and Thursday, 90 minutes of Free Practice gets official action underway at 12.00 hrs local time on Friday 5 July. This will be followed later that afternoon by two hours of Qualifying, starting at 15.30 hrs.

The Hankook 12H MISANO itself is scheduled to begin at 10.00 hrs on Saturday 6 July, and will run uninterrupted until the chequered flag flies at 22.00 hrs later that evening. Further details can also be found HERE
