In 2019, together we celebrated Under One Sky the one hundred years of milestones in astronomy. Now, as we face new unprecedented challenges, we wish that the message shared Under One Sky continues to shine stronger than ever across our community.

Dear friends and colleagues,

It has been one year ago since we officially celebrated the IAU's 100th year anniversary. Many of us, both professional and amateur astronomers, gathered in Brussels to celebrate the IAU 1919-2019: 100 Years Under One Sky Celebration Flagship Ceremony. Many excellent and inspiring talks were presented under the theme "Astronomy with and for Society", including by Nobel laureates Ben Feringa and Brian Schmidt, astronauts John Grunsfeld and Chiaki Mukai, writer Maria Popova, director-general DST Phil Mjwara, former EC science advisor Anne Glover, Chancellor Univ Free State Khotso Mokhele and director IAS Robbert Dijkgraaf. On April 13 2019, the first-ever IAU-amateur astronomers' event was held in Brussels, highlighting the many contributions that amateur astronomers make to our field. We encourage you to visit our Youtube videos posted here signalling the event.

As the world struggles to contain the spread of COVID-19 we are adapting many of our IAU outreach programs to a fully online framework, doing whatever we can to help tackle this pandemic as well as its collateral effects on society. We encourage you to participate in some of the many programmes the IAU is implementing including the Call to Action from the International Astronomical Union Offices gathering digital astronomy resources and fun activities to do at home, and to help everyone coping with the prolonged times being spent indoors. The IAU Online Astronomy@Home Awards to recognise these incredible and inspiring efforts event organisers worldwide are carrying out during these months. And stay connected through our many Astronomy At Home Challenges disseminated online. Our programmes are designed to build bridges to the amateur astronomers' communities, that continue to be a critical link with and to the society, having a paramount role during this difficult period.

The world we live in now is certainly different, but we hope we can all continue to support each other and that the IAU100 message Under One Sky together continues, strong and inspiring as ever in this unsettling period.

Wishing you and your families and friends all our best and thanking you for all your efforts,
Lina Canas, on behalf of the IAU Office for Astronomy Outreach Team
Jorge Rivero, on behalf of the IAU100 Secretariat
Ewine van Dishoeck, on behalf of the IAU Executive Committee
