    It's our Monday international employment law update. And this week, we're turning our eye to Australasia. 🇦🇺 Australia Effective from 1st July 2024, the minimum wage has increased by 3.75%. The new national minimum wage will be $915.90 The Temporary Skill Shortage (SC 482) Visa will be replaced with a Skills in Demand visa, which will have three streams (Specialist Skills Pathway, Core Skills Pathway and Essential Skills Pathway) to cover highly specialised occupations. It will require a minimum salary of $135,000AUD. 🇳🇿 New Zealand - visa changes here too. The New Zealand government has made changes to the Accredited Employer Work Visa Scheme. This scheme is designed to prioritise New Zealanders for jobs, while simultaneously allowing employers to hire skilled migrants when there are shortages of skill or labour. #employmentlaw #globalization #workvisa #hr

    🌍 Is your company employing and managing teams globally? Here's your mid-month employment law update👇 🇵🇷 Puerto Rico - Effective July 1, 2024, the minimum wage will increase to $10.50 per hour. Employers now have until August 15, 2024, to file their annual payroll statement to maintain their insurance coverage through the State Insurance Fund Corporation. 🇵🇱 Poland - Starting January 1, 2024, minimum wages are revised to PLN 27.70 per hour and PLN 4,242 per month. 🇻🇳 Vietnam - Effective July 1, 2024, the updated minimum wage structure for all 4 economic regions is as follows: Region I: 4,960,000 VND/month; Region II: 4,410,000 VND/month; Region III: 3,860,000 VND/month; Region IV: 3,450,000 VND/month. 🇮🇩 Indonesia - A new law grants working mothers three months of maternity leave, or six months if the newborn has health issues, with varying pay rates. Male employees are entitled to two days of paternity leave, extendable by three days, and two days in the event of a miscarriage. 🇯🇵 Japan - Employers with 10 or more employees must notify employees of any changes to employment terms and contract renewals. The Ministry of Health, Labor, and Welfare increased meal values considered as in-kind salary under insurance plans. The government will discuss extending public health insurance coverage to include childbirth from fiscal 2026. 🇦🇺 Australia - The Fair Work Commission’s Annual Wage Review 2023-24 increased award rates by 3.75%, setting the national minimum wage at $24.10/hour or $915.90/week. For casual employees, the rate is $30.13/hour. The unfair dismissal compensation limit is now $87,500. Paid parental leave has increased from 20 to 22 weeks starting July 1, 2024, with incremental increases until it reaches 26 weeks in 2026. #hr #employmentlaw #compliance #remotework
