What an incredible turnout at our "HR Trends Update" event! It was truly amazing to see so many of our clients come together to share their insights and learn from one another. The energy in the room was electrifying as we discussed the latest trends and challenges in the world of HR. 📊 Key Takeaways: 1/ Retention remains a top priority: Over the next six months, HR professionals are focusing heavily on retaining top talent, with recruitment seeing an almost 100% increase in importance. 2️/ Static split between interim/FTC and perm roles: The distribution of roles between interim/FTC and permanent positions has remained relatively unchanged, suggesting a balance in hiring strategies. 3️/ Return to the office: We've observed a significant shift towards office-based work, with 71% of employees now working in the office compared to just 5% last year. 4️/ Hiring sources: Surprisingly, personal networks account for only 1% of anticipated hiring. Instead, recruitment agencies (51%) and direct teams (45%) contribute to over 96% of new hires, highlighting the importance of strong partnerships and team collaboration. 5️/ Candidate motivations: One interesting revelation was the noted emphasis on values, purpose, and brand alignment as the primary reasons candidates choose to join an organisation. I am excited to share that I recently joined Oakleaf Partnership Limited to help lead the firm's already successful expansion into the US market. Having spent over 20 years specializing in the human resources field, the opportunity to join a global firm whose singular focus is HR search was too good to pass up. My initial meetings with Simon Hunt and the executive leadership team were compelling, but an evening on the town with the US team solidified my engagement and prompted me to make a move serendipitously. I always encourage candidates to take the call when opportunity comes knocking and fortunately, in this instance, I followed my own advice.   I'm happy to work with this intellectually curious, cosmopolitan, dynamic, and welcoming group of colleagues. I am confident that, together, we will continue to provide thoughtful, white glove recruitment support to our clients and candidates as we continue to build a highly impactful HR search practice.
