This is a sturdy and fast USB 3.x (USB type C) SSD.I've been using it for various data backup transfers.And also now, since it is so fast, I've set one volume on it ('partitioned' via Apple APFS file system) to be my target drive for clone backups of my iMac. (I did need to reformat it from its native ExFAT file system to APFS, but not a big deal as Apple Disk Utility can do that quickly.) The USB 3 cable is rather short, only about 8 inches or so. Keep that in mind, your situation may be fine or you may need to order a longer data cable. I attached a drive speed test, using AmorphouseDiskMark for MacOS, (it's almost identical to the well-regarded CrystalDiskMark for Windows OS). The speed will vary over time and test settings, this was its default parameters of 5 cycles with a 1 GiB data test set, and shows a rather astounding approx. 1000 MiB/sec read and write at maximum throughput test condition.Recommended.

This drive is pretty cool when it comes to speed (my max was ~1GB/s) and the physical footprint of the drive being pretty small. I would have given this drive a five-star rating except one thing; using this drive initially was a pain... my device did not recognize the SSD, and I was unable to find it using the disk manager through Windows 10. After fiddling with the cable the drive was finally recognizable but was not able to transfer any data. I then tried another Type c to USB cable and the drive worked perfectly. With this said, the two cables that are provided in the Box (a type c to type c and a type c to USB A) are able to transmit power to the SSD but not able to transfer any data (Windows 10 prompting with an error when trying to load the drive). This was not much of a problem for myself because I have extra cables lying around. For the average user however, having these two provided cables not work properly can be of an inconvenience and lead to them buying a separate cable. Aside from the cables not working properly, like I mentioned above, the drive is very fast and I am able to game off it. While using the SSD it does get warm but this is normal. After moving a lot of data it does get pretty hot to touch but cools off rather quickly. It is best to leave the drive exposed to the open air when using it and not have it under anything or surrounded by other objects. Overall this is a great drive. I would say this is great for the money however I bought this when it was on sale, and it was a great buy at the sale price. For the non-sale price however, it can be a little expensive when compared to competitors like Samsung, but when compared to brand named gaming SSDs, this is a great alternative.

This is a 1TB SSD that is smaller than a typical external HD. This is certainly not as small as a thumb drive but it is also FAST. For an external device at 1Gbps it is about a 1/6th the speed of internal fast hard drives. This is fast for a device like this. I placed it in my Thunderbolt 3/USB-c port and it copied ~700GB in 60 to 75 min. The variance is because I was not timing it for this review; I am reporting it here after the fact. I used Windows backup to transfer my entire internal drive to this as a backup.

There is one thing to note that I am concerned about despite my 5star review. My machine crashed when I plugged it in, but I think it says more about my first edition port than the drive itself. For full disclosure, I report the incident.

Received today. First Impression is great!

This Adata is lightweight, feels durable, and I immediately trust it with my valuable data. (I told this device that it had a high call of duty, that an archive of photos and music would be entrusted to it for the long term. I believe it's up for the challenge. =)

I chose this device along with the competitor Samsung T7 Shield SSD. I will use both SSD's for long term archival purposes of important data, both holding identical data for redundancy: offline collections of my life's photos, music, email, etc. The SSD's (Adata and Samsung) will be stored in separate locations to ensure long term survivability. This is to safe-guard my most essential data from possible cloud based disasters.

Their rated dust, water and impact resistance were important factors. They're replacing spin hard drives that are more vulnerable.

With the security of knowing that my life's data up-til-now is secure offline with the Adata and Samsung, I'll rely on cloud based storage going forward.

I'll buy another Adata or Samsung T7 Shield SSD for day to day offline use.

This Adata SE800 made a good impression on me and I may choose another.

die blaue Farbe stimmt nicht mit der Abb. überein, es ist mehr ein leicht violett angehauchtes, helles Blau - schade, das satte Blau hätte mir besser gefallen - aber - das beeinflusst glücklicherweise die Leistung der Platte nicht.
Während mein normales Flash-LW an USB 3.0 Stunden brauchte, um ein paar GB zu kopieren, geht das mit diesem LW in unter 30 Min.
Der Deckel zum Abdecken der Anschlüsse könnte m.M.n etwas fester abschließen und wenn das Kabel 20 cm länger wäre, wäre das auch nicht schlecht; das ist jedoch Meckern auf hohem Niveau, schließlich ist das Kabel hier dabei und muss nicht noch extra gekauft werden.
Die schw. Variante ist um Einiges billiger, wer also "nur" Wert auf die entsprechende Technik/Schnelligkeit legt, sollte die SSD in Schwarz kaufen.
Bisher keine Ausfälle, benutze die SSDs jedoch auch nur zum wöchentlichen Backup.
Wasserdichtigkeit habe ich NICHT überprüft (nicht testen MÜSSEN)
Ein paar Tage in der äußeren Netztasche meines Rucksacks hat den LWs jedenfalls nicht geschadet.

For the price of this SSD its great to use as a back up drive. It's super fast when moving files to it, making it convent to back up and move files from pc to pc. Its super small making it convenient to throw in a bag and always have with you.
