I bought this monitor when it was on sale for $999 and I never looked back :). This is one of the best monitors in the >40" class. The media could not be loaded.
This monitor shares the same Samsung panel of the OLED G8, Alienware 34, MSi MEG34, but has additional I/O, including the USB-C/DP-Alt option with 90W of power delivery for productivity users. It has plenty of I/O, KVM switch, and it’s almost as elegant as the aluminum Samsung G8.

If you juggle computers for work and play, want a gaming monitor that is elegant and not gharish like the Alienware and MSi, but has more functionality than the mini I/O setup of the otherwise great Samsung G8 OLED, this is a great panel for you.

It has the best price ($100-$500 less than its competition), a warranty of 4 years, and still a blast to game on and pleasant to work on.

    My only nitpicks are :
    1. Blue flecks in the oversized stand making the product look a bit cheaper. This is due to Philips joining the ranks of companies that put recycled scraps of plastic in things as if it’s desirable.
    2. Samsung has showed us we can have Ultrawide without wide monitor stands. It would’ve been nice if Philips took a page out of the MSi, Samsung playbook and followed suit. Nearly a foot deep is far too large of a footprint for any monitor stand.
    3. It also seems to be ever so slightly crooked, but that may be the way it sits on my desk (the legs are so long that it rests on my desk mat). Or it could be because rather than a traditional VESA mounting plate on the stand, it has a quick release tab that means there’s some play in it. I have since replaced it with an AVLT monitor arm combined with the included VESA adapter.
    4. No burn in warranty (Alienware offers it, but just don’t leave your monitor on without a screensaver, lower the brightness on desktop use, and follow the pixel care prompts)
    5. If you’re a console gamer, you’ll be limited to 100 hz. 175 hz, FreeSync Pro is only supported over DP, USB-C.

To recap, of the 21:9 1440p QD OLEDs, this will provide you the same or more I/O features of all its brethren, and at a lower price. $776-$799 tends to be the window for this unit, and for that you’re getting:
    1. 1440p Ultrawide format
    2. DP, HDMI, USB-C/DP-Alt w/ 90W PD
    3. Several USB-A ports, USB-B port
    4. 175hz refresh paired with a 0.1ms response time.
    5. G-SYNC, FreeSync compatible
    6. Nearly perfect motion clarity, vibrant colors, deep blacks

At a lower price than all its competitors and more features than the Alienware DW, DWF (the darlings of this segment thanks to content creators like LTT). As far as I’m concerned, that makes this the best of the lot.

Pixel refresh is extremely aggressive and I found in my personal experience not always reliable.

Imagine having a friend who calls you to come over to talk. These talks usually help you and improve your life but your friend is annoyingly persistent and calls you every 4 hours. That's the pixel refresh. Even when you're gaming or watching a movie you get the prompt shattering immersion.

Now that could be fixed pretty easy with a few modifications to the pixel refresh system but it seems an afterthought to Phillips.

I will say that the curve and the back lights to help with eye strain significantly. It was almost like I could feel my eyes relaxing when looking at the monitor which is a strange and beautiful feeling.

One caveat I had is with the back light's light sync. The implementation is so poor that instead of increasing your immersion, you find yourself wondering why the colors aren't matching those on the screen.

Tldr: Beautiful Technology that needs a few QoL upgrades to truly be a premium product.

Wowee is this amazing! At its current price of around $800, this is a no-brainer and as far as my research showed me, the best value of the 21:9 OLEDs of 2023. The picture quality is stunning, dimming when lots of white is on the screen does happen, but not too noticeably, and the actual hardware itself is gorgeous. My only nitpicks are that the USB ports along the back are a bit close to the bottom of the display, and face downwards, so some of the cabling protrudes into sight without some clever management.

A no-brainer upgrade, and honestly the image quality looks better than my previous HP Omen 34" that was also 3440x1440.

The backlighting is a bit laggy and I don't really use it, which is a little bit of a bummer, so don't expect too much there, though I do like setting it to static white.

El bendito burn in.
