While the Ekahau Sidekick is a revolutionary wifi surveying device, I did not realize that the cable could be a potential safety hazard until I had a safety compliance officer for a client point it out. After much thought of what could happen if I got snagged like damaging the USB port of a Surface Pro $$$, damage to the Surface Pro or the Sidekick or a possible life altering injury, I started thinking outside of the box.
That lead me to finding this device. So far with all of my testing, it's needs suit exactly what I need. It's just a breakaway just like the older Macbooks. The connection is tight enough I feel more than secure without worries of an accident disconnection but I am also sure that I won't be put into any dangerous situations if it gets snagged up.
It is protecting myself, my tablet and my costly wireless surveying devices. I'm sold and I will be purchasing this for my team for manufacturing and warehouse environment wireless surveys and design.
