I do chip design using complex CPU eating, memory hogging CAD tools under Ubuntu. The A7 completes the same design/simulation tasks only 10% more slowly than my 900 hp, fuel injected, fire breathing, 7950X desk top system and its TINY! I was gobsmacked by the size of the A7; it's actually smaller than it appears on its Amazon page.

With all eight cores totally maxed out, the case temperature is noticeably warm (45 C???), and the fan noise is louder than I would like but not really objectionable. Most of the time, the A7 runs nearly silently.

I self-upgraded my A7 to 5800 MHz 64 GB of RAM (wish more could be added) and 4 TB of Samsung 990 PCIe 4 m.2 SSD. I would have preferred to use 8 TB of SSD but 8 TB is not supported by the A7.

The upgrade was trivial, but I managed to pull the WiFi antenna cable out of the u.FL connector despite watching at least two videos on Youtube that explained how not to be a klutz. I was able to reattach the WiFi antenna cable but only after using language than would make a Marine blush. Reattaching the WiFi antenna cable took 30 minutes!

I installed Ubuntu 22.04 but needed to use a wired Ethernet connection during installation as the stock *.iso file doesn't yet support the MediaTek 7922 2.5GbE/BT 5.2 chip used in the A7. An updated driver gets downloaded during the Ubuntu install, so WiFi works after Ubuntu 22.04 installation, but BT remained borked.

I contacted Geekom support. They responded in a day or two with a new Linux driver for the 7922 that (in theory) should fix my BT problems. For now, I am using an external USB to BT dongle as a workaround to the BT problems. I have been too lazy to actually try the new driver.

Can the A7 be used to game? I don't really have an opinion but there are several reviews on the Internet than cover the A7's gaming performance.

My only concern about the A7 is the mechanical wear on the USB and HDMI connectors over time which might lead to problems after a few 100 insertion/removal cycles.

I purchased several other SFF computers recently. The Geekom was "best of breed" in performance and customer support.

While it worked it was a great PC but it should last longer that 2.5 months. After entering the Windows Bitlocker code 3 times and having no success repairing the Windows corruption I finally gave up. It was likely a faulty SSD problem but it was unrecoverable.

This PC performed very well and supported multiple monitors (up to 6 by using the 2 HDMI ports and two docking stations with 2 HDMI ports each. The docking stations connected to the USB-C ports of this PC. It did everything the PC specifications said it would

The company provided a full refund and reimbursed my return shipping costs. I would have tried another time with a replacement PC but is took me so long to install and configure all the applications I need to use, I was not willing to risk another failure right away.

I needed a graphics card with high speed usb-c or DP connectivity to use with my wacom cintiq pro tablet and were looking for something in the same price range as Geekom A7.
When I came across this little computer and read a lot about it I decided to buy this little beauty and it fitted my needs perfectly! It has up to four display connections, a high speed usb 4 (40gb/sec), a 10gb/second usb-c, and two hdmi ports. So I can now use both my regular screen and wacom display tablet at the same time.
The only downside with this mini pc is the weak wifi signal that is not strong enough to hold a high speed connection. Another minor downside was that the installed windows pro 11 started to complain that the product key wasn’t valid. ‘Minor’ because it was solved quickly by customer support.
