Save yourself the trouble and get a different dongle if you're trying to use guitars for clone band or emulation. Whole a controller will hook up after about 20 tries, the guitar will not! Tried a GH Live and a fend and neither would connect. Bought a 360 dongle and that worked immediately.

Do not recommend this cheap busted dongle even for controllers. Total crap!

I had some old Xbox 360 controller laying around and I figured why not use this for couch party night unfortunately, the controllers don’t support being connected to computers directly through Bluetooth and requires an adapter. This adapter does this. The connection process is a seamless as an Xbox 360 just push the button, then push your controller button then then they will sync. I believe you can sync up as many controllers as this original. Xbox 360 does only use three so far.

I bought this receiver around May 2023 and I use it almost every day, it's relatively easy to setup for someone who knows very well about computers like me but anyone who has very basic or little knowledge need to struggle a bit with a little YouTube tutorial about drivers and how to install them, IDK if it was my computer but you have to install the drivers again if you change it from a usb port to another, and thats not even the biggest problem

The first problem is that the connection its a bit unstable, if you cover the center area of the controller with your hands, the controller can disconnects from the receiver for a couples seconds, and this can happen anytime even if you dont cover the controller

The second problem is that the moment the controller is disconnected the first time, Windows doesn't detects anymore, unless you change the receiver to another usb port or restart the computer, luckily some games still detect the controller but some old games dont and is like a lottery to know which game can and can't, so you have to restart the pc or change the port everytime the connection becomes unstable or the controller shuts down

Besides these problems, the receiver is pretty good, it's sync the controller pretty easy, Windows does detects it as an official receiver (if you install the correct driver) so its pretty straightforward, good product with some details

1. Plug it in.
2. Open Device Manager
3. Find the device not found.
4. Right Click - Update Driver
5. Browse my computer for drivers.
6. Let me pick from a list...
7. Scroll to the bottom and find Xbox devices.
8. Choose the Xbox receiver option.
9. Done.

You'll most likely get a prompt that there could be compatibility issues, but it's fine. Mine works great. Multiple Xbox 360 controllers connect (4 total). I haven't tested headphones, etc... But it's a decently priced alternative considering other options. If it weren't for my almost decade old Xbox 360 controllers not dying I'd have upgraded those, but they're fine and new controllers are so damned expensive. Cheers.

One thing that got me at first, though, was that you also need to hold the small 'connect' button on the front of the 360 controller. Doing so will cause the xbox light to run in a circle, and then the controller was detected for me.

I still have my old guitar from the heady days of playing Guitar Hero on Xbox 360 with my family. After reading about people managing to get the games working on PC along with Clone Hero, I figured I'd try this.

The device is just a small black box connected to your PC via the attached USB cable. Once I'd set up the drivers for Windows 10 (see below), I connected the guitar and loaded Clone Hero. Everything just worked and within five minutes of connecting this receiver I was playing.

I know from reading comments online that some people have had issues with lag when playing Clone Hero with a wireless controller like the guitar I have. However, I had no problems with this at all. Clone Hero does have settings you can tweak to mitigate this.

In terms of trying to get the original Guitar Hero games working, I haven't yet tried. Clone Hero is a native Windows app and so doesn't require any kind of emulation to work.

In terms of the hardware and performance, I cannot fault this little device. Once the drivers were set up, it just worked without any further need of configuration.

If you use Windows 10 and want to use this, here's how I got it working. It takes less than two minutes:

The drivers for this should be already available in Windows.
Plug the receiver into a USB port.
Open Control Panel.
Open Device Manager.
Look down the list for 'Other Devices', 'Unknown Device' or similar. It will be the one with a yellow triangle icon against it.
Right click this entry and select 'Update Driver'.
Select 'Browse my computers for drivers'.
Then select 'Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer'.
You should then see a list of Xbox 360 devices. Select the one labelled 'Xbox 360 Wireless Receiver for Windows' and click 'Next'.
You'll then get a warning popup about installing unverified drivers. Click 'Yes'.
The drivers should then install and you're good to go.
