A new purpose for Xbox controllers headed to the trash

I setup a VR PC, and one day I was playing a non-VR game thinking it was tough using the keyboard and mouse, it would be better to have an Xbox controller or something similar.
So, I went through some old boxes market for donation and trash and found my original Xbox, and it's controllers. I was surprised to find this cable existed for such an out dated controller, but it did. So, I ordered it, and kept one controller from the trash.
I am running Windows 10, and when I plugged it in the controller was instantly found. No drivers or anything were needed. The games use it, I haven't had one that didn't. It's great. While Xbox games are old and not played anymore the controllers are just fine. I only wish I had kept two of them from that box, I would have ordered another cable.

Now I will probably get another Xbox 360 or ONE controller, so I can play two player games.

About the games, the controller is flawless, no adjustment, no lag, it works like it did on the Xbox. It's really impressive. Maybe I'll order a used controller off of Amazon, they are probably cheap now.

Does exactly what it says, so off the bat, five stars. However, getting it to work is a different story. If you use XP with the XBCD driver, you're fine. However, getting it to work on Seven is a different story. A little searching on the internet helps though. I have gotten this product to work on a laptop with XP, Vista, and Seven, so if you have one these OS and if you need this cable, get it, it works. It'll just take a bit of time to get it to work perfectly. Also, I don't know if we're allowed to advertise, however, Xpadder is probably the best gamepad mapper out there, no frills, and its about $10 USD (Much less than any other one, and I've tried many, including Pinnacle, Xpadder is far superior).

But back to the cable, I believe there is a review here that explains how they got it to work. I pretty much did the same thing. Also, this will work for EVERYTHING (in your computer) if you use it in conjunction with Xpadder, you can even control your computer with your gamepad, also no need to change the controls of your game, just map out your controller to have the same controls as your game. This means that you can use emulators, computer games (of course), control your media player, browse the web, even type up a review... if you're clever enough with button mapping. Anyway, I'm straying far off topic.

This cable works. And it works well... if you know how to work it. Five stars. I honestly don't understand why it wouldn't be five stars.
