Embed your plan in a Confluence page

This page refers to the advanced planning features that are only available as part of Jira Cloud Premium and Enterprise.

In order to export or share your plan, you need to have Plans administrator or Plan user permissions. Read more about plan permissions.

Required plugin update for Confluence Data Center/Server users

Your Confluence Data Center/Server site needs to be using the latest version of the Jira Premium Plan plugin (version 1.2.3) in order to embed plans. Download the latest version from the Atlassian Marketplace.

Without this update, you won’t be able to export your plan to a Confluence Data Center/Server site.

When you share your plan in a Confluence Cloud page, for viewers to see its contents, they need to have:

  • access the to the instance and be logged in

  • Plans viewer permission for that plan. Find out how to give this permission.

  • Permission to at lease see the projects and boards included in the plan

    • if someone in your site doesn’t have permission to see the projects in the plan, then the embedded plan appears empty.

To embed your plan in a Confluence Cloud page:

  1. In your plan, select Share as in the upper right corner, then choose Confluence.

    1. The view you have open when you select Share as determines which screen is shared to your Confluence page. For example, if you select Share as from the dependencies view, that’s what will be embedded.

  2. Use Generate link to create a link to your plan.

  3. Navigate to the Confluence page to which you’d like to add your plan, and add the Jira Premium Plan macro by either:

    1. typing '/' (in the new Confluence Cloud editor) or '{' (in the classic editor) to bring up the macro shortcuts menu, and search for Jira Premium Plans.

    2. open the macro menu (+), then select Jira Premium Plans.

  4. Paste the generated link from step 2 in the URL field.

  5. Choose the height in pixels you'd like the plan to display on the Confluence page. We recommend a minimum height of 700px for an effective viewing experience.

  6. Select Insert.
