I really don't understand the hype for Fallout series.
Well yea... Maybe the lore is cool and full of interesting details. But on the technical side of things - it is very hard to enjoy this game if you're not into masochistic endeavors.
Just like with Fallout 3 - I can't make myself finish or even fully commit to playing this game. When does it get good? When do you start to physically ignore the bugs and rough edges?
I hate the fact that I turn my MAP on with an M button, but I can't turn it off by pressing the same button again...
I hate that the world is full of sharp and uneven edges - the camera constantly bobbing over the smallest of bumps. Making me feel sick after a while. And I'm 100% sure that this is not the problem with me - I love shooters and have been playing them all my life! None of them had this weird feeling camera issue like Fallout does.
I hate that the movement itself feels like I have wooden sticks for my legs... This weird, stiff feeling of not being able to do anything decent. Forget about jumping through the windows or over obstacles without accidentally clipping a corner that is a little bit too high.
I also hate my companion that keeps constantly getting into fights that it loses which is annoying and is a waste of Med X. Nothing more fun than getting blasted by security sentry because the stupid dog decided to go around the building instead of going with me...
Oooh... And I hate bullet sponge enemies! Well... not maybe the enemies themselves, but the fact that the majority of shots get wasted on random recoil which does not guarantee that the first shot will always land on the target. Forcing me to constantly use Pip-Boy aiming which also sucks...
But then yea... I still hate the enemies. For how unpredictable they move! And it is not because they use some sort of real-time strats... It is because of the horribly designed world. NPCs keep bopping around on uneven surfaces. Funny when they are stuck, because it is an easy kill, buuuuuut... This is supposed to be a triple-a product with every corner polished to a very high standard.
And then I even got my save game bugged with insta-death...
Too bad I already wasted 2 hours on this game trying to get along with how bad the gameplay is...
There are far more interesting and polished-out games out there than Fallout and I dare to say that Fallout is overrated.

They literally took a jack of those POKEYMAN cards and racked it up to eleven!

Clunky movement, oversized level design for the small number of players, bullet sponges all over the place... Exhausting as hell. Fun for an hour or two if your age is still on the clock.

Amazingly crafted masterpiece of a video game. No doubt - A MUST BUY! This is why indie-devs used to have a great reputation. Truly wish that more games would be as lovingly made as this one...

Ancient design game with modern sparkling visuals... I know, I know - it suppose to be one of the best jrpgs out there, but decisions that were made during its development are baffling. Unskippable cutscenes that will annoy you to hell after failed boss battle. Oh, and final battle - you will need very strong nerves to get through it as when you die from constant stun-lock attacks you will see that you have to replay an half an hour session again with those same unskippable cutscenes. Enjoy!

Open-world and boring rpg elements are not always the answer. This game would be, at best, "good" if not for the predecessor which displayed a very solid gameplay with an enjoyable story and amazing world-building. Now we have a boring open-world and gameplay loop that wears out in the first hour of playing. You'll find yourself running a lot through the same places multiple times for the sake of a "story" that was written by a group of people who never met each other and are filled with hateful, egoistic, "tiktok" cool characters that you "suppose" to relate to and care about. Also, let's not forget the fact that now you are FORCED to fight your way through resistance instead of having a choice to cleverly dodge them like in the first Mirror's Edge. Just buy the first Mirror's Edge and you'll get everything and much more than this second part has to offer...
