I have all the security set up correctly and my PC is clean, unless it's brand new virus or malware/spyware that is undetected.
I'm tec savvy, I know how to identify phishing scams etc... I haven't put my log in details into any other site except the Steam client.
I had no notifications about any log in activity.
I had several dozen emails yesterday within a 40 min period from Steam to notify my of market transactions.
My account was listing items cheap, then my account bought items, all without my knowledge or consent.
How they gain access and do this I have no idea but steam wallet is definitely not safe.
When i was in class someone hijacked my account and buyed a dota item for 3 euros.
How do i contact steam suport?
Steam support won't do anything to help.
Perform these steps, in order...
Scan for malware. https://www.malwarebytes.com/ or with whatever
Deauthorize all devices https://store.steampowered.com/twofactor/manage
Change your password on a secure device.
Generate new back up codes. https://store.steampowered.com/twofactor/manage
Revoke the api key (this should be empty) https://steamcommunity.com/dev/apikey
I'm waiting steam support to reply
still waiting steam support to reply
This is absurd! I did not even received a 2FA notification or that some one logged in my account from another device. Nice security Steam!
i did everything once i saw my wallet but there was no Malware and pretty sure i didn't do anything new on my pc and i have other launchers and apps that i am logged on nthn happen on them, at this point pretty sure that's a data breach and Steam should do smthn :(
Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately there is nothing on my computer and it was off at the time even. I checked everywhere I could. The only logical thing I can think is steam is compromised in general.
