The absolute best part of steam's design is that its professional. When you changed the old play button and library look it was great, new theme and still very serious.
The store page FORCES Us to watch trailers and gameplays for the front game instead of a good animation. While this does look better, it makes steam look more similar to ps & xbox stores or epicgames store.
It takes away the uniqe steam front page that we already have and makes every game sound like a "huge hit". This may be good for developers, but not for everyone. Having a front page with a list of games and maybe a big banner is good, since there is a huge tressure of games behind it, but when it comes to a hype scene, its less good in my opinion. Im sure i cant be the only one Who thinks that.
Other than that, Steamlab is awesome so far!
Add filter 'games that friends own' both in store and lib and 'DLC for games you own' in store
Make game developer und publisher pages easier to find and perhaps give the respective owner a bit freedom to change the appearance
And add basic logic AND/XOR/NOT to the tag filters in the store and library (e.g. FPS AND Horror NOT Isometric )
Import/Export/Share games collections/shelves. Example: like the gamepad mappings in Big Picture find other peoples shared collections, e.g. to quickly fetch a collection with all games supported by GeForce Now in it, or someones collection of souls-like games. When downloaded you'll have the new collection in your library with only all the games you own. Those shared collections could be dynamic and continued to be updated by the creator.
