Types[]

Active Items[]

Some items have a unique ability or effect when activated. These items are equipped by default, automatically assigned to the number keys 1, 2, and 3 in your inventory. You can change two of these active items, one being the crest you select at the beginning of the game and the other being your non-potion consumable. You can continuously swap between the Stealth Ward and the Sentry item during a match, but you may only choose one crest for the duration.

Passive Items[]

These items have a unique or stacking passive effect and can be equipped into any of the 5 item positions. If multiple items have the same type of passive effect, see blight, the effect WILL NOT stack with other items who also provide blight. This is not the case for Soul Chalice's and Resolution's passive "Critical Font" will stack with and activate on the same minion kill as Alchemical Rod's and Azure Core's passive "Font" because they are classified as different despite being functionally identical.

Consumables[]

There are four consumables in Predecessor, the Health Potion, the Stealth Ward, the Solstone, and the Sentry. Health Potions and Solstones are refilled upon returning to base or dying, while the Stealth Ward and the Sentry are on a cooldown timer.

Crests (Starter Items)[]

Predecessor has a total of seven crests available to choose at the start of each match. The type of crest you select should ideally relate to your hero's abilities and planned build. For instance, selecting the Marksman Crest while playing as Gideon in the Mid Lane would be much less effective than selecting the Magician Crest or Occult Crest as those provide magic power and mana or health instead of attack speed and physical power.

Tier I Items[]

Tier I items are the lowest form of item in Predecessor, they provide a small stat bonus without any additional effects. The one exception to this is Spell Slasher which provides a bonus to physical power on your next basic attack after using an ability. The majority of Tier I items cost 350 gold, with the most expensive being SABRE at 650.

Tier II Items[]

Tier II items are the middle ground in Predecessor, some of them provide passive effects that scale into their respective Tier III items, but mostly these items are just an upgraded version of their Tier I counterparts. Notable examples of Tier II items that provide passive effects are Soul Chalice, Horned Plate, Clayemore, Brimstone, Robust Arbalest, Loch Shawl, and Barbaric Cleaver. Tier II items can be as inexpensive as 800 gold to as expensive as 1800 gold.

Tier III Items[]

Tier III items are the best items available to buy in the shop. Each Tier III item has at minimum one unique passive, with many having two, and a few even having three. These passive effects are some of the strongest modifiers available in Predecessor and creating a unique and effective combination is key to success. These effects can be as simple as provide a spell shield to your hero during a game to as complex as "[your] abilities deal 0%-40% (based on 0-1600 maximum health difference) bonus physical damage against Enemy Heroes with greater maximum health than you." Tier III items can be as little as 2600 gold to as expensive as 3600 gold.
