Announcement: 2 Podcast Interviews
I recently did two interviews on other podcasts. The first is the Mandarin Slang Guide podcast, where we talked about some common Chinese expressions that had their roots in the characters and stories of the Three Kingdoms era. The second one is Journey to the West: The Podcast, where we had a long chat about classic Chinese novels and their cultural significance, including the Romance of the Three Kingdoms, the Water Margin, and of course, Journey to the West. Have a listen, and also check out the other episodes on those podcasts, too. If you like what I'm doing, you might be interested in those shows as well.

Customer Reviews
Wow. What a wonderful, charming gift to listeners!
Daunted by the size, sweep and reputation of RotTK, I have wondered what it was all about. Watched a few Chinese action movies like Red Cliffs to dip a toe in but never cracked the book. This kind soul has made the story irresistible. He gives an excellent digest of the action chapter by chapter with informative asides to clarify parts I’d have skipped over. (All Chinese literature is dense with classical references and earlier history.) Best of all, I enjoy his ‘personable nerd’approach. He's obviously a sharp guy but like the best smarties, a modest guy who makes his love for the subject approachable with a delightful sense of humor. Thank you, John.
Better late than never
I discovered this podcast on a whim, a few years after its completion. I like most I imagine being a fan of the dynasty warriors, games, which, in turn, led me to consume all other three kingdoms related products, including the novel itself. this podcast still gave me a wonderful and new insight into the contents of this historical period and the novel and I greatly appreciate it from a history perspective, culture perspective, etc.. I would highly recommend anyone to this podcast and the source material
Dynasty Warriors!
Dynasty Warriors game is what brought me here… the well done quality and highly knowledgeable content is what made me stay. Truly one of the best podcasts I’ve listened to.
